All the thoughts disappeared when I heard kids crying outside my apartment. I decided to take a small peek (the monster slipping out of my mind). I opened my worn-out curtains and saw a little girl yelling at her dad to get him back inside. It seemed like he was searching for help, but he was unprotected from the monsters. Right then, my heart got jammed. My eye caught another monster. This one was unlike the first one: its main body was humanoid, but its enlarged head was deformed. It had rotten, unhuman eyes and it had no common features. I cried to get the dad to safety but… it was too late. Dad was knocked off the rope and had fallen to his death. The kids couldn’t stop panicking and at this rate it would probably attract more monsters. How do I save them?
Behind me were a couple objects I could utilize as weapons: my fridge, my bed, and my beloved 50-inch smart TV. Logically speaking, both the first items were too large to fit through the window, so the only thing small enough was indeed my… beloved 50-inch tv. Without second thought I ran to grab my TV and I threw it out of the window. It perfectly landed on the monster which did move away from the kids. However, it wanted me next… I closed my windows and left a small gap. I ran to grab a mop stick as it was my only method of self-defense. I thought I could use a knife, but it was too small, and I would have to get close to that thing if I wanted to stab it. Then it came into my mind to attach the knife to the stick but before I was able to do it the monster was already at the window.
I stared at its sinister eyes with fright: there was no way that this thing would die simply with a stick. The least I could do was make it blind. It would help but it wouldn’t make the monster any less deadly. It was fight or flight.
Before I could plan my next move my window burst and I jumped in shock. It broke in. the next thing I knew was that it was already wrapped around me trying to suffocate me. This was the only way that the monster could kill me since it had no other features like a mouth. My only escape from this misery was death, which I already wanted. What a dramatic death.
