"So, clarify something for me, will you?" Clint said to Loki with a small huff as he fired arrow after arrow into the ranks of their enemies. "You said early to Ebony Maw that you'd sworn vengeance upon Thanos and his children, right?"

"Yes, you have the right of it," Loki replied with a grin as he speared the chest of yet another foe. He yanked the blade free and spun about, magic flowing from the blade to freeze three more enemies. He sniffed derisively and pushed the one closest to him, causing it to fall into the others like dominos to crash into pieces against the ground. "What about that needs clarification?"

"Are you honestly trying to help save the Universe or are you just using us to get revenge on Thanos?" Clint asked, his tone dark as he yanked a dagger from its' sheath on his thigh. The dagger was embedded in the skull of one of the Chitauri warriors less than a second later.

"Why not both?" Loki asked with a laugh, kicking one of the dog-like beasts charging them backward and into a pile of debris.

"You know, we seriously need to have an in-depth discussion about this once we're done here," Clint said with another huff.

"You know, I've always wondered," Loki said as he turned to look at Natasha. "I'm usually back in the office running analytics, and the comms aren't always on open mic, but... is he always this chatty in the middle of combat?"

"He is," Natasha said with a small laugh. She quickly holstered two of her guns, out of ammo for that pair, and pulled out another pair from their holsters at the base of her back. "Believe it or not, the banter helps him focus. He also only banters with people he likes, so, congrats! He likes you now."

"The hell I do!" Clint snapped back, firing off three arrows rapidly and hitting three enemies right in the eye.

"Don't let him fool you," Natasha said with another laugh. "First time I met him, I tried to shoot his brains out. He forgave me for that years ago. You'll be fine."

"Natasha, you're missing the point here!" Clint said with a sigh and a comic droop of his shoulders before his weapon came back up to drop one of the warriors foolish enough to try for the faux-opening he'd made. "He's not supposed to be forgiven yet! Need to pay him back first, you know. I'm still working on a good punishment for him. Then he'll be forgiven."

"Well then. I look forward to seeing your efforts," Loki said.

Loki spun about, a spear of ice forming and flying seemingly straight for Clint. Clint froze, eyes going wide, but the spear flew right over his shoulder to hit a Chitauri that had actually managed to sneak up on the archer. Clint turned to look at the corpse before looking back at Loki. Loki smirked at him, straightening up smugly. Clint's eyes narrowed and then widened and he drew swiftly, firing an arrow in Loki's direction. Loki froze in turn, the arrow shooting over his own shoulder to take down not just one, but two Chitauri behind him, the arrow 'schlinking' through the first one's skull and embedding into the warrior behind it. Loki turned and looked at the two corpses and then back to Clint.

"Hah! That's how you do it," Clint said with a laugh and a smirk.

"Guys," Natasha said from on top of a pile of debris. Both males turned to look at her, noticing that she was looking up. "Someone needs to get up there..."

Loki and Clint looked upwards, following her line of sight to see a massive flying beast soaring through the air above them. Clint grimaced and glanced down at his bow before looking at Loki with a shrug. Loki nodded his head knowingly. Their bullets and arrows wouldn't be able to hit the beast at this range.

"I'm on it," Loki said with a grim smile.

He tossed the spear toward the ground, but rather than hit the ground, the spear started to float a few inches above the ground. He jumped onto it, shifting his feet for balance, and then zoomed up into the air. Clint's eyes flew wide and he blinked at the sight for a moment in dumbfounded silence before turning to look at Natasha.
