Clint knew that things weren't going particularly well for them. He'd been paired with Nat and Doctor Strange to fight one of Thanos' Children, Ebony Maw. The male was a skinny alien, almost frail in appearance. He had a weird, skull-like face that lacked a nose. Despite his fragile seeming physique, he wasn't a pushover. He used telekinesis and mental-based attacks to keep their fighters at bay.

Fan-fucking-tastic...

Thankfully, they had Strange there to counter most of Ebony Maw's attacks. The Magic-user would keep the male's attention while Clint and Natasha moved to flank the invader. They'd hoped to take Ebony Maw down with a quick sneak attack.

Or well, that had been the plan. Sadly, it didn't work.

Somehow, the alien magic-user could see their attacks coming. Ebony lifted cars into the air to block Clint's arrows. Heft broken walls upwards to deflect Natasha's shots. Pulled down buildings to distract Strange. Hells, he could even lift the Clint and Nat upwards, throwing them back any time they got too close. Even Strange was sent flying every now and then.

"Dammit. We can't even get close to him!" Clint hissed angrily over the comm as he fired another arrow Ebony's way.

Of course, the blasted thing stopped mid-air and was launched right back at Clint with a derisive sniff from the alien mage. Clint rolled out of the way, barely avoiding his own arrow. Ebony let out an almost mournful sigh and shook his head.

"Why are you resisting us?" Ebony Maw asked in a tone that was both sorrowful and mocking. "We are here to save you. Don't you understand? You should feel honored! Thanos has chosen your world to be blessed by his coming. Your planet, your people, will find salvation in his mercy."

"Yeah, no thanks," Clint said with a snort, launching another arrow at the bastard's face before twisting out of the way to avoid his own arrow once more. "We don't need nor want your kind of 'saving!'"

"Get off of our planet!" Nat shouted angrily as she slipped forward to take advantage of a seeming opening that Strange had made in Ebony's defensive wall of debris.

Sadly, once more, it didn't work. Nat's bullets were blocked by yet another car, and she was then forced to duck to the side to avoid being squished by the same vehicle. Strange wasn't so lucky. He took a lamp post to the face and was sent flying backward with a startled yelp. Ebony Maw chuckled softly and shook his head at them as if they were misbehaving children.

Clint let out another snarl. How were they supposed to bring this asshole down? Clint darted back behind some cover and started to sneak around to try to line up another shot. He froze when he noticed movement behind Ebony, his eyes going wide at the impossible sight before him. A male with brown hair and impossibly bright green eyes, and a green suit. The male was moving as silent and quick as a cat, a dagger held tucked in against the line of his wrist.

What... what the hell is Loki doing out here?! Clint thought to himself worriedly.

Thankfully, Ebony hadn't noticed the other male just yet. The grey-skinned male had his eyes on Natasha and Clint. Loki smirked as he moved in range, raising the dagger upwards as he moved up onto some fallen debris to get above Ebony. He lept from the debris, attempting to attack Ebony from behind...

Only to freeze in the air as Ebony's magic coiled around him, locking him in place. Clint's eyes widened in horror as Ebony slowly turned to look at Loki's magically-bound form.

"Oh? What have we here?" Ebony smirked and tilted his head, fingers idly trailing through the air as he pulled Loki a little closer. "Why if it isn't our old guest, the Fallen god."
