'That's my girl'.
Harry looked between you and George before pursing his lips and diverting his eyes away - it appeared he felt a little awkward standing there - but you simply laughed gently and thanked him again for the chocolate. He merely nodded, saying nothing, before you all decided it was a good idea to get back to the castle and maybe warn Dumbledore that there had been a surprise Dementor attack. George and Harry were deep in discussion, debating whether Dumbledore already knew or not.
'He's Dumbledore, George! Dumbledore!' Harry argued loyally as George made a tutting noise, 'He knows everything, you can't deny it'.
George seemed to think for about half a second before retorting - 'He doesn't know who put your name in the Goblet of Fire'. He said this rather tartly and Harry did not look impressed.
'Git. No one does, and I for one wish they hadn't done it', he asserted sharply, giving George a slight nudge. George tripped to the side a little, narrowly missing you, before regaining his balance and putting one hand on your shoulder. You sighed deeply, glaring at him playfully. He grinned cheekily down at you, and you gave your opinion on their little debate.
'I reckon there's a chance Dumbledore knows', you dictated, leaning more to agreeing with Harry. 'He does know an awful lot'. You watched Harry throw his arms forward with his palms up in an 'I told you so' manner whilst shooting George a scowling look. George looked at him with a straight face as you laughed at Harry's expression, until you realised you were all getting closer to Dumbledore's office rather than the Gryffindor Common Room.
'I suppose we're telling him then?' George hypothesised, and you shrugged with a sideways nod. Reaching the door, Harry muttered the password and the large golden gargoyle that was in front of you began to spiral slowly upwards, revealing the large shining door that lead to Dumbledore's office. A loud, clear voice said 'come in' and Harry twisted the door knob, leading the way. It made sense - after all, Harry seemed to go there a lot.
Dumbledore stood up gravely from behind his fairly cluttered desk and walked around in front of it, smiling warmly at you all. 'Harry, y/n, George', he spoke, 'To what do I owe this interestingly timed pleasure?' Dumbledore scanned you all and seemed to linger on you and George for a moment, before looking almost dreamily around his office. You looked around too; there were various trinkets strewn about the wide room, a collection of ancient looking contraptions and ticking curios sat close together and were displayed in ancient, aging chestnut cabinets. The office had a very tall ceiling, and as you brought your gaze back to Dumbledore you noticed a beautiful glowing red and yellow bird that sat on its perch, crooning and watching you intently. No one spoke, and Dumbledore followed your gaze to the bird.
'A Phoenix', he told you serenely, 'very magnificent birds indeed. May I assume it is you, miss l/n, that has something to tell me?' You looked from him back to the bird, and then shuffled closer to Harry and George. Nodding slowly, you quietly tugged George's arm and he began to speak.
'Well uh, you see Professor', he started rather awkwardly, 'Me and y/n encountered some Dementors'.
Dumbledore looked up at this, clearly concerned. 'Dementors?' he asked, intrigued, studying George closely. George nodded along with you, and at this Dumbledore swept swiftly back to his desk. 'How very peculiar. There shouldn't be any around Hogwarts this year'.
'Yeah, I'm not sure what happened because I wasn't there, but I do know y/n cast a very powerful corporeal patronus and pretty much saved George', Harry told Dumbledore carefully, and you felt your face go slightly pink with flattery.
Dumbledore turned back to look at you and smiled once more. 'It is wonderful that you managed to cast an extremely advanced spell, y/n, especially with your past records in Defence Against the Dark Arts'. Dumbledore may be an old wizard, but he certainly didn't hold back.
