'You know, I thought Cedric was dating Cho Chang', Draco began as you walked beside one another through the large castle halls, 'I didn't realise he was a raging bisexual, and down bad for Potter at that! But anyway, what made you get so mad?'
You fumbled with your hands a little and tried to relive the moment, ignoring Draco's comment about Cedric and Harry since, at that moment, you didn't fancy asking how he found out about it. The slight argument was an odd pain you'd experienced, even though neither of the twins had meant any harm, and you were a bit irked that you'd become so irritated so fast. Nonetheless, you told Draco your side of the story.
'Well they sorta just acted like I was overreacting about the death omen', you explained steadily, allowing your arms to hang by your sides as a gaggle of students rushed past you and Draco, pushing you both single file into a nearby stone wall. Your knuckles caught on the rough texture and you flinched, bringing your hand up to look at the snag once they'd all passed, praying that it hadn't taken off any skin. There was a painful looking scrape running across three of your left knuckles, exposing a raw patch of flesh at the end of your middle finger. You swallowed weakly as the blood glistened crimson. Heaving a deep sigh at the misfortunate timing, you leant against the wall that'd snatched at your skin, clamping your right hand over the wound like a sizeable squishy plaster and gritting your teeth in response to the sharp gravelly sensation. Draco stopped next to you and gave a questioning look, but didn't say anything, allowing you to continue,
'When I told them it would be horrible to lose one of them like I'd lost my sister, Fred literally said "your sister isn't dead though, is she?" and that was the final straw. I just couldn't stay there, I'm not really sure why or how I got so mad.'
'Fred's such an insensitive bastard', Draco muttered distastefully despite his truce with the twins, before taking your wrist and gently unclasping your left hand from your knuckles. There was bright red blood all over your palm where your skin had repelled it, and your left hand wasn't looking much better - it appeared almost as if you'd punched a wall with your bare fist. He cast a quick wiping spell on your right hand, siphoning off the warm blood with a fluent movement of his wand, before taking a closer look at your left knuckle. It had been properly skinned by the rough stone wall, and was a touchy reddish pink colour where the skin had become irritated under the pressure of your hand, so Draco tapped his wand lightly onto the raw flesh and muttered Ferula.
A small wad of pale cream bandages wrapped themselves tightly over your hand, and you relaxed gratefully - not only did the bandages staunch the steady flow of blood streaming from your knuckles, but they also seemed to have a way of easing the pain a little. There was no more of the grinding, aching feeling coming from your hand, but more of a light tingle. It was bearable, and much more desirable compared to how it had felt mere moments before.
'That should do for now, unless you want to go see Pomfrey?' Draco offered, gently releasing his grip on your wrist and tucking his wand into the small thin robe pocket designed for them to sit in. 'It's up to you, I don't mind.'
You gave Draco a soft smile and inspected your hand, running your fingers along the textured gauze,
'I'm sure I'll be fine for now, but I should probably get Pomfrey to disinfect it for me later or it'll get worse.'
Draco nodded and you both stayed leaning against the wall for a moment in a very comfortable silence, watching calmly as hurried seventh years speed-walked past with books in their hands, or pint-sized first years scurried along in their little friend groups, giving you and Draco weary looks as well as making a sizeable semi circle around where you were standing. You scuffed your foot lethargically on the flagstones back and forth many times before, after a while of waiting, Fred and George finally decided that now was the time to express their apologies. Draco gave them the same warning look as they approached and stepped to the side.
