Word vomit

It started off as a normal day. The camp was playing capture the flag with Apollo and Hades cabins being on the same team.

Will was on defense and Nico was on offense. But that didn't really matter because he would just do whatever he wanted.

He saw Nico running out of the corner of his eye, as he defended himself against an Athena kid. He always kept alert of where Nico was when he could during games.

Will realized he was losing his footing so he focused his concentration on fighting.

Then he heard Nico scream and loud thump. He immediately looked back to where Nico was and got pushed to the ground by the Athena camper.

"Hold on! I have to help my friend, I think he's really hurt"

"Oh, sorry. Go help your boyfriend" He said. Almost every other camper teased him about having a crush on Nico, though he would never admit it. It was kind of like Percy and Annabeth; it was obvious.

He usually got defensive when they did but
priorities you know

He got up and ran over to wear he had heard Nico scream. He saw him laying next to a tree holding his leg.

"Nico!" He ran over to sit down next to him.

"I-I'm fine!" He retorted, wincing as he tried to sit up.

"What happened? Are you ok?"

"I fell down the tree, I'm fine" he tried to stand up, Will standing up with his arms prepared to catch him.

Good thing because the second Nico put weight on his leg, he groaned in pain, collapsing into Will's arms.

"I think you're legs sprained"

"No, I'm fine!" He says, despite holding on to Will for dear life. Which kind of made made his heart flutter just a tiny bit.

"Nico, I'm gonna do something that's really gonna piss you off. So just know I do it because I care"

"Wha-HEY" Nico yelled defiantly as he picked him up bridal style.

Despite his verbal protests Nico was grateful, he knew his leg was hurt and also didn't mind being in Wills arms.

Will ran over to the crowd "Nico's hurt I'm gonna take him to the infirmary alright!"

Some of them nodded and continued fighting.

Once he got to the infirmary he speed walked into one room, and gently sat Nico down on the medical bed.

"Ok, so where does you leg hurt?"

"...my ankle" he was going to stubborn but decided against it.

After a few minutes Will left the room to come back a few minutes later with medicine.

"You have a sprained ankle, so I got you some pain medication." He said, holding a few pills

"Also, fair warning, there's a side effect"

"Oh no, what it is?" He replied irritably.

"You say speak your mind basically, theres a lot more to it with the chemicals in your brain and stuff but at face value that's it." He handed Nico the medication.

"Oh well" he said, downing the pills.

Fast forward about 30 minutes and Nico was very woozy. He'd also flipped off an Ares camper who walked by that he didn't get along with.

"You need to get some rest" Will said, Nico was spinning in a chair.

"You can carry me" he giggled slightly every other word.

Will was a little surprised but shrugged then obliged. He pulled him into a firemans lift over one shoulder.

"I like the view" Nico commented

"What?" Will voice was a little squeaky. He could feel his face getting red.

Nico only responded with a breathy laugh.

He sat him down on the bed, laughing nervously.

"Um, anyways. I'm gonna leave now, you get some rest" his voice was back to normal now. As he turned to leave Nico touched Wills hand

"Um, could you stay"

"...why?" He said, turning back

"I-uh, I get these nightmares. I always wish that you're there when I have them" He said, his hand holding up his face, his elbow resting on his thigh. Looking to the side.

"Oh sure" Will smiled. It made him sad that he had nightmares but he couldn't help focusing on the comment about Nico always wanted him to be there.

Will sat there next to the bed in a chair. Nico laying down, tucked into the blanket, laying on his side.

At some point Nico started shifting around and had a pained expression on his face. Will had fallen asleep, his heads and arm resting on the corner of the bed.

He awoke when Nico grabbed his hand in his sleep.

"Are you ok?" He whispered. Nico struggled a little more before sitting up with a yell, still grabbing Will's hand.

He hesitated for a second before hugging Will. Will hugged him back, realizing Nico was shaking.

"Its ok, I'm right here, you're safe" he whispered in Nico's ear.

That helped Nico steady his breathing. Realizing that the person he wanted to be there to comfort him: was comforting him.

"Thank you" Will was a little taken aback, those were words nobody would expect Nico Di Angelo to say, to anyone.

"You're welcome" Will gently ran his fingers through Nico's hair.

After a minute they pulled away from the embrace. "Do you... do you like me?" Nico said bluntly.

Wills face faltered, like he couldn't decide what facial expression to make. "Oh, sorry, I guess the side effects haven't fully worn off, you don't have to answer that" he said, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Oh, I-I do. How'd you guess?" Will responded

"I'm not Percy, and plus you make it kind of obvious"
"I do not!"
"Yes you do"
"How?"
"You look at me, like a lot, during meal times"
"Oh, I didn't think you'd notice that"
"And when you picked me up I could hear your heart beat. And-"

"I get it" Will laughed
"Well, I like you too" He gave a small smile, before leaning in to kiss Will on the cheek.

"Wanna go out sometime?" Nico leaned back on against the wall.

"I thought you were the type to shut people out" he asked curiously, his hand where Nico kissed him.

"I was doing that, but it didn't really get me far. Bianca would want me to be happy" he held one of his knees

Will couldn't help but smile
"Yeah, I'd love to go out with you"
