Road Trip

The song has very little to do with the story, but I love it and you haven't listened to it its amazing

Percy, Hazel, Reyna, Annabeth, Nico, and Will were going in a round trip together. Will was coming by the insistence of Nico, which raised an eyebrow or two, but they did what they usually did. Will made a doctors note saying that he needed to be with his doctor because his energy could be easily strained on the trip. . . Somehow.

Why a road trip, you may ask? Well it was suggested by Percy and Annabeth. Who, after everything they'd been through, wanted to do something that reminded them of a simpler time. A time back when they were 12 and clueless to how messed up their lives would get.

How were they sleeping you may also wonder? The van was basically the size of a bus, just with a lot less seats that could extend to be long enough to lay down on. Though they only had 3, meaning that some people had to lay together. Very close together.

So the two couples, Solangelo and Percabeth, were the ones sleeping in such close quarters. Percy and Reyna told Will not to try any funny business because they would throw him out the van and leave him stranded.

"Darling? Are you still awake?" Will whispered in Nico's ear. It was late and Will had randomly woken up. He did that sometimes and he didn't know why.

Nico nodded in response, then opened one eye. "Uh-huh. I may have had a nightmare" He whispered back. Nico was definitely better at whispering. On the other hand, he probably wouldn't have even heard Will if they weren't spooning and Will's head was right next to Nico's.

"Are you ok?" Will asked. He snuggled closer to Nico, wanting to make him feel safe. Will couldn't see it but Nico's mouth formed a warm smile.

"Yeah, you were right here, I always feel safe next to you." Nico wasn't usually so verbally affectionate, but since he was tired he was kind of just speaking his mind.

"I'm glad. I love you Neeks, I know you doubt that you're lovable sometimes but I would do almost anything for you" Nico scooted back ever so slightly to be as close to him as possible. "Even let you use my arm as a pillow, which is numb by now" Will joked. Nico let out a small laugh before Will leaned over to kiss right under his ear, which made Nico start giggling. He was very ticklish and Will knew it.

That's when Reyna popped her head over the seat and they could see her glare through the darkness. "What's happening over here?"

"Nothing, just Nico is extremely ticklish" Will kissed him again in the same place, causing laughter from Nico once again.

"I am not!" He whisper shouted, trying not to wake the others like they did Reyna.

"Should I punch Will for doing this?" He asked flatly.

"No. . . I kind of like it" Nico mumbled the last part, but Will caught it.

"What was that?" He questioned teasingly.

"I said: I kind of like it" he repeated while he started blushing.

"I'll go back to sleep now, and again; Will, No Funny Business." She told him in a way that was very intimidating for Will.

After a second hey heard her lay back down and Will continued on talking. "So you like it? Neeks that's adorable"

"Be quiet or I'm making you sleep on the floor" he said with a hint of cheerfulness in his voice that let Will know he was happy. Knowing Nico was happy was one of the best things to Will. It hurt him when Nico was injured or upset. He hates seeing the person he cares so much about, in so much pain. You can imagine how he felt when he learned about all Nico had been through.

Will gave one last tickle-kiss before they both drifted off to sleep.

The next morning arrived and Percy, Annabeth and Hazel were the first up. They saw that Nico, even though still asleep, had a small smile.

This absolutely warmed Percy's heart, he hadn't seen Nico genuinely happy in years before Will came around. Whenever he saw Nico smiling like that he couldn't help remember the kid he, at the time, thought was annoying. The kid whose childhood had been ripped from him because of something Percy still felt slightly responsible for.

Hazel noticed him staring at them and elbowed him in the shoulder. "Yeah I know, it's great seeing him so happy but don't stare at my brother and his boyfriend cuddling, it's a little creepy."

"Yeah, fair point. Ooh! What if we start driving while they're still asleep" he offered.

The others wanted to have a little fun and possibly knock them out of their seat. They also really wanted breakfast from McDonald's, which they knew would make it up to Nico afterwards.

They started driving and when they hit the breaks Reyna fell out of her seat with a yelp. Followed by cursing in Greek and English.

Will was basically anchored to the seat because of his weight, so he didn't fall out, and Nico didn't either because of his protective embrace. Literally.

They did get a jolt when they stopped which did wake them both up. When they threw off the blanket they noticed that Nico was wearing the shirt Will went to bed in. Leaving Will without a shirt on, and very confused.

"Did you too have-" Reyna was about to accuse them of something that they did not do. Her voice was also suprisingly loud for someone who just woke up but she must have been angry.

"No! I actually don't know how he got my shirt on" Will said before she could finish, not saying th actually word saved him a little embarrassment.

"How did you get my shirt on? We were cuddling really close the whole night, I think I would have noticed you moving and taking my shirt off" Will continued, facing Nico now.

"A son of hades never reveals his ways" he said evily. Though most of the intimidation was lost since he was wearing a shirt 3 times too big for him  that hung down to almost his knees.

"Isn't the saying a magician never reveals his ways?" Percy asked

"Shut up" he gave Percy a death glare, that was just enough to be intimidating even with the oversized shirt.

"Well someone's not getting McDonald's. You're being way too rude right now" Hazel waved the bag of food in front of his face.

Will proceeded to grab the bag after Hazel stretched her arm up so Nico couldn't reach it. He gave Nico the bag and did give the others their food, but not before shoving a few extra fries into their shared basket of fries.

Will also fed him some of the fries in a cute, romantic gesture.

Overall it was a good trip.
