Chapter Eleven - The End

Josh lifted me off the ground to lead me out of the room. I followed him hesitantly down the hallway. My face was blank of any emotion and I didn't know what was going to happen next. He led me through a large door and into a huge room. The walls were chocolate brown and the hardwood floors were shiny. There was a huge couch and two large chairs, a coffee table and a large window. The window showed a large forest hardly letting light through it was so thick. I heard a door open and turned my attention to who it was. After all that I happened I found it so hard to believe that I could still run and jump in his arms. I wrapped my legs around him kissing every part of his face saving his lips for last. I held my self to him and kissed him until I heard clapping behind me. He set me gently on the ground and wrapped his arms around me clinging me to him.

"Aww isn't that just so sweet. Too bad it won't last long." Amethyst said walking towards us smiling maliciously.

"Am you can't do this to them." She ignored Josh's pleas.

" So sweet little Robyn you're about to join us. If you go peacefully I will gladly let someone you love change you." She paused glaring at Alex. " But if you don't I will and it will be as slow and painful as possible." I looked up at Alex his face was contorted in pain. I didn't know what to do. I wanted badly to fight her. But on the other hand I wanted to be with Alex Forever.

I wasn't ready to change Forever was a long time. Of course Forever wouldn't be so long if Alex was there but still that's not the point. I'd rather wait till I graduate if I last that long. Amethyst was crouched ready for a fight. Alex stepped forward ready to rip her to shreds, but he wasn't going to sacrifice himself like that. I pushed him back and he saw in my eyes what I wanted. Amethyst walked in a circle around me I stood poised ready for her to jump. I realized even though I was human she was going to be too easy an opponent. All she knew was that she was fast and strong. She lunged at me and I stepped to the side. My heart thumping hoping my plan worked. I heard a crash and took a deep breath and slowly opened my eyes. The window was shattered and Alex was already outside, as something flew through the broken window. I took a step toward it as it wiggled and grabbed me around the ankle. I screamed and Josh pulled it off, and pulled me to my feet. I stood back and watched as Alex lit a fire in the forest, and climbed back through hurrying us out the door and into the driveway. My hair swung in my face, as my usually durable rubber band broke. Alex squeezed my hand as I let out a deep breath I felt like I'd been holding in for a long time. The cool air hit my face like icicles. It's gradually becoming colder as time goes by. Alex's body heat radiated off him as I huddled closer. I opened my eyes and looked around to see where we were. My eyes widened in shock, as I looked up at the grand old mansion. The one I snuck into months ago. The smoke was billowing out over the trees and the back half of the building was on fire. The house that I had broke into, lived in, and nearly died in was now burning away into nothing but ash. The life I left behind was now over and me and Alex we could begin fresh what with college rolling around. Maybe we could even go someplace far away. I walked down the thick asphalt driveway with Alex on one side and Josh on the other. Things were finally looking up.
