Brian was walking around the supermarket, gathering the items for dinner that Rachel had requested. He hated food shopping and was just hoping to get in and out of the store as soon as possible. As he was standing around the cereal aisle he heard two voices come from behind him.
"Oh my god! You're Q from impractical jokers!" A young woman exclaimed walking right up to him with her friend in toe.
"How are you ladies?" He smiled turning to face them.
"I'm so good! Are you guys filming right now?" The second friend asked practically jumping with excitement.
"No, not filming. Just doing some shopping." He answered.
Then without hesitation one of the girls pulled out her phone to take a picture. The two girls closed in on his sides and snapped the selfie within the span of a second. Before he could even realize what was happening, he smiled and looked into the camera. Then they pulled away and proceeded to ask him a million questions.
"Thank you so much, Q! You're my favorite! I was so sad when I heard you lost your memory." The one girl frowned.
Here we go.
"Ladies I don't-" Brian tried to stop them not really wanting to have this conversation with two people he didn't even know in the middle of the grocery store.
"I feel so bad for your wife! You guys were such a cute couple." She cut him off, pouting sorrowfully.
Were?
"And your daughter. Aw your daughter is so adorable!" The other woman continued, way too excited for Q's liking.
The two fans continued to share their opinions making Brian more and more uncomfortable by the second. He loved his fans, but these two were becoming a little much.
"Okay laides, it was great meeting you, but I gotta get back to shopping." He interrupted them as politely as possible.
"Bye Q!" They each said in unison as they began walking away form him.
However, they didn't move too far away and were still in earshot of him. That's when he heard their conversation.
"I feel so bad for him." The first woman told the other girl.
"I know. If I was his wife I'd probably get a divorce. I mean, how do you handle that?"
Divorce?
Brian's head was spinning as he stood there trying not to make it obvious he could hear every word they were saying. Questions started to whirl around in his head, creating made up scenarios.
Is this how Rachel feels? Am I too much to handle? Does she want a divorce? Does everyone else feel this way too?
He couldn't be there anymore. He quickly grabbed the last thing he needed and headed to check out. The entire way home he was left alone with his thoughts and imagination. And by the time he arrived at the house he was about ready to snap.
Upon entering he kicked his shoes aside and slammed the front door shut with his foot before walking into the kitchen with the bags in hand. He dropped the bags onto the counter and noticed Rachel walking in from the living room.
"Hey! Everything go okay?" Rachel asked as she started to unpack the groceries.
Brian rolled his eyes at the question.
"Yeah, it was fine." He answered flatly, assisting her in the pack away process.
Rachel could sense the change in his tone compared to when he left and knew something wasn't right.
