"Kailan niyo balak magpakasal?"

I shrugged at Kuya Luke's question. Sa totoo lang ay hindi ko rin alam kung kailan ang balak ni Jaiden. He only keeps saying he wants us to get married, but in truth, we have nothing planned at all.

I visited Kuya at his condo today para kumustahin siya, and also to share the news. Medyo busy na rin kasi si Kuya Luke, and we haven't been seeing each other that much.

"We haven't talked about the actual planning. Kahit siguro gusto na naming dalawa, baka matagalan pa rin." I answered honestly.

"Then you should talk about it," payo ni Kuya. "Planning a wedding isn't like planning a project. Matatagalan kayong dalawa kung hindi niyo pa aaaikasuhin ngayon."

"I'll tell him later," tugon ko. I looked at Kuya who was sitting just in front of me. "You'll walk me down the aisle, right?"

Napatingin sa'kin si Kuya. He probably wasn't expecting me to say that. Na-isip ko lang kasi na wala na si Papa at si Mama, and all I had left was him.

Dahan-dahan akong tinanguan ni Kuya. "Of course."

Ngumiti ako sa kaniya. My brother never knew how to let me down. He always filled up the void that our parents leave, especially with everything that happened then. Kung wala si Kuya ay paniguradong wala na rin ako.

"I have to go. May shift pa ako sa clinic," I told him, standing up from the couch. "Take care, Kuya."

I headed to the clinic just like what I told him. Doktora Bautista welcomed me as we all got to work. Halos wala na nga akong ginagawa rito, but I still choose to work everyday. Malapit na matapos ang clinic ko, at kapag nangyari 'yon ay aalis na rin ako rito.

"Doktora, may naghahanap po sa inyo sa lounge."

Napalingon ako nang sabihin 'yon sa'kin ng VA. I smiled at her and nodded. I walked towards the reception area, ready to greet whoever was there, pero nang makita ko kung sinong naroon ay nagulantang ako.

"Jaiden?" I called.

Napalingon sa'kin si Jaiden na naka-upo roon. He was wearing a brown, short sleeved polo with three buttons opened, partnered with pants. He looked so fresh and handsome while sitting there.

"Hi," Jaiden greeted, smiling at me.

"Wala kang trabaho?" I asked as I walked closer to give him a peck.

"Day off," sagot niya matapos akong halikan. "Busy?" he asked, looking at the cubicles behind me.

"Hindi masyado. Isang major operation lang, tapos uuwi na ako." paliwanag ko.

Before Jaiden could reply, may lumapit nang assistant sa'kin, telling me that the operation I'll be leading is about to start. I nodded to dismiss her, then I turned back to Jaiden.

"I have to go. Dito ka lang ba muna?" I asked him.

"Puwede ba akong manood?" tanong niya pabalik, a smiling forming on his lips. "I want to see how my wife works."
