"What if - get this - we sabotage the sports festival instead of ruining it with an attack?"
"Dammit" Izuku thought. "I really couldn't think of anything better huh?..."
Shigaraki stared at him. "And why would we do that?"
"I- I mean think about it! There's going to be pro-heroes on the scene as well trained hero-course students, we can't take them all out on our own!"
"and maybe, just maybe" Izuku thought "I can keep Ochako safe."
"The kid's right man it's too risky..."
"You're agreeing with Izuku? Now that's something I thought I'd never see!"
Dabi and Toga, in a way Izuku was kinda thankful for this moment, maybe they could help change Shigaraki's mind by agreeing. And so they discussed it until there was only one question left... how to get in...
Days were passing and the sports festival was coming closer only two more days. Right now their main goal was to get more information on the students, as well uploading certain viruses on the school computers. Deku decided that once there he'd just take anything he can get his hands on, you never know when something will prove useful. Part of him wondered how the rest of his former classmates were doing, he was hoping the tables had turned and bakugou was the one being teased now. Looking back at it their "friendship" was pretty toxic. He was wondering if there was any way to maybe infiltrate U.A. again, though that most likely wouldn't happen as he'd probably get arrested on the spot.
And so the day he'd been dreading just grew closer....
U.A. was crowded, students and pro-heroes all over the place, though it did make a lot of sense since the USJ attack. The school probably didn't wanna take any unnecessary risks. The only problem would be sneaking in unnoticed but smart little Izuku still happened to have his old uniform, why give it back if they never ask for it? Nobody knew him except for his former teachers and class 1-a, he'd have to make sure to avoid them at all costs, though that shouldn't be much of a problem since the building was filled with other students wearing the same outfit.
"All right.... here I go..."
And so he entered.
Walking through the halls trying to be unnoticed by people who knew him. His anxiety was going through the roof, he felt like he could be caught any minute... and it'd all be over... all the hard work for nothing... He hadn't felt this way in a long time and feeling it now all of a sudden was just weird. Though he found some sense of false-comfort knowing a nomu would be released during the festival onto school grounds soon, but he had to be done by then. Luckily his memories didn't fail him and found the teachers lounge quite quickly.
He quickly plugged his usb-stick into the computer and- oh.. wrong end... he flipped it.... wrong end again and so he flipped it a third time and finally got it plugged in. And so started gathering the info he needed. He had been at this for about 10 minutes when suddenly...
"Are you really sure about this? starting the sports festival now sounds like one of the biggest risks to take at the moment... I think we should've called it off when we still had the chance..."
"Nonsense Shouta! If anything it'll boost morale!..... And hopefully young Midoriya will return..."
'crap' He remembered those voices. Aizawa and allmight, he quickly stuffed the papers into his backpack, took his usb-stick and got out of there.
When the two entered he was already gone.
"Kid you ready?"
"Ready, let's go!"
He met up with Dabi and the two of them got the hell out of there, in the meantime crater face- - - shigaraki... had released the nomu. Two of them, two of the weaker ones to be precise, you could call them "prototypes" if you'd like, this was a last minute alteration to the plan. Part of Izuku was nervous about Ochako getting injured but he knew that according to schedule her fight wasn't until much later so she should have been fine. He shook the thoughts out of his head and just kept running.
Back at the base Izuku let out a sigh of relief. This really was more stressful than he thought especially since he almost got caught, it was like a weight lifted off his shoulders. Now they waited... You'd think it'd be awkward since Dabi and Izuku couldn't seem to stand each other but it was fine. They both just did their own thing, then kurogiri came in. "Oh, you're back. How'd the mission go?"
"Fine enough I guess, got some intel, hopefully enough of it..."
"We'll see..."
After some waiting and some small talk Shigaraki returned. Apparently the sports festival was a mess, and with the pros there they didn't want to get the students involved. They decided to go over the things Deku collected before planning their next strike...
"Blabla bla, blablablabla, bla- ey- eku- Deku- DEKU"
Suddenly the boy shot awake, apparently he zoned out for a while, not good. very not good.
"Let him be. The boy did a good job."
Good job huh?... Thanks kurogiri...
but he only had one thing on his mind right now...
Would young midoriya ever return to U.A. as a hero?....
