Secrets Chapter 9
Aurora
I sighed and threw my head backwards against the headrest. We were sat at the back of a bus, heading to wherever we may find Thorne. Sebastian and Felix had instantly known where Celeste's 'hide out' was.
I stared glumly out of the large window, watching as the surroundings flashed by. Usually bus rides would be made fun by Thorne continuously switching seats and seeing how many people noticed. Not today.
Her missing presence was obvious between the remaining three of us. Felix sat beside me, tapping a tune on his leg. It was slowly beginning to drive me insane. However, I was too worried about my best friend to be bothered about Felix's annoying habits.
What if Celeste had hurt her? Or worse. I sunk down in my chair, trying to rid my head of the thoughts. Sebastian and Felix were in control, right?
I could Felix's eyes boring into the side of my head. Sebastian was completely oblivious, flicking through a book which appeared to be full of various symbols and writing. I turned my gaze to meet Felix's blue eyes.
"You're worried." He stated.
"Of course I am." I replied simply.
Felix sighed and settled back further into his seat, no longer meeting my eye.
"We'll find her you know." He said.
"But in what state?" I mumbled.
I wanted to believe Thorne was okay, I did. All of a sudden, the bus shuddered to a stop. Sebastian was up in a second, heading towards the front of the bus and toward the exit. Felix followed after his brother, which left me to follow after him.
As soon as we were off of the bus, I was met with a huge building. I assumed this was Celeste's hide out. Sebastian took a step closer.
I gazed at the large building. Windows were boarded over with mouldy slats of wood, whilst ivy grew thick up one side of the weak looking wall. The ivy crept into some cracks in the wall and into open parts of the window. Weeds sprouted up around the bottom of the building. I lightly pressed one of the bricks, causing it to crumble under my touch.
Sebastian stepped towards the door and lay his hand flat against it. The door looked as if it were the only strong bit about the whole building. It was as if it were holding up the entire building, the only point of support. He suddenly twisted his hand, still keeping it in contact with the door. The door crumpled, the hinges snapping loudly as it flew across the room. It smashed into a wall opposite with a loud bang.
The room was pitch black, hiding everything inside. I shuddered slightly, trying to imagine what could be inside. Judging by the last few days, anything could be in there. Sebastian took a step forwards, scrunching his eyes. I assumed he was trying to adjust them to the darkness which draped the room. Sebastian furrowed his brows as he squinted his eyes. I heard Felix chuckle as he walked past his brother. Felix dissapeared into the darkness for a second, before having his smug face lit back up with the fireball he wielded in his hand.
"Shut up." Sebastian muttered as he walked up to Felix.
Felix snickered. Sebastian joined him at the side and then turned to face me, much like Felix was already doing. Felix quirked an eyebrow at me slightly as he watched me stand in the broad daylight. There was something wrong about this place and it definitely was not in my natural instincts to walk straight into danger. I wasn't one to get scared easily, but from what the past few days had held and the horrible feeling I was getting, I wasn't too sure it was within my capability to walk in here and come back out unscathed.
