(Ayda's POV)
The wind whipped past my face as I dived after Tony. I could see him out of the corner of my eye headed straight for my two soulmates.  If the sensation on the back of my neck was anything to go on, we might be in for a bigger fight than originally assumed.

There, Circe slowed and landed next to where Loki had been abandoned. He sat watching Tony brawl with the new guy.

"I'm willing to bet that's Thor." Loki looked over at me. He had a deep sadness in his eyes.

"Yes. Thor Odinson, next king of Asgard. I always resented him, you know. When it became obvious to us that we would be sharing a soulmate, he was ecstatic. He believed it would bring us closer together. I only saw it as a hindrance. In Asgard, the location of the Mark is just as important as what it looks like. Thor's Mark is above mine, therefore I believed he would be above me in the eyes of our beloved."

While he spoke my outfit shifted to something more comfortable than the evening gown I was still wearing. High-waisted jeans and a long-sleeved purple shirt covered me.  Gold and violet brackets stacked themselves on my wrists. A golden crescent necklace glittered in the moonlight around my neck. A pair of lavender high tops appeared last.

Loki's head was bowed. He flinched when I reached out a hand to brush some hair back behind his ear. I could see the hesitance in his emerald eyes. Whether it was because we were soulmates or the fact that he looked so broken, I started talking.

"My parents were soulmates. They were also historians. When they weren't taking care of me, they were nose-deep in some book about ancient civilization." Circe had returned to her fox-squirrel form and was curled up in my lap. I ran a hand over her back absentmindedly. "Instead of bedtime stories like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, they told me of the things people used to believe. About the Greeks and such, it's how I knew who you and your brother are." Tears began to sting my eyes. "I didn't have any friends but I didn't need them, I was happy. Around the time I turned 10, odd things started to happen. First, this little one appeared." I smiled down at Circe. "Scared the heck out of my mother while we were watching a movie. Then, things I wanted, started moving without me touching them."

"My parents pulled me out of school at that point; I didn't mind. Somehow I knew they were trying to protect me. They always seemed to know more than they let on. They somehow got a hold of real spellbooks. With those, I learned how to control what I could do."

"For a time, we were happy again. I should have known it wouldn't last. See what I didn't know at the time was my parents had been working with SHIELD secretly. Both to protect me and to get information on things one normally wouldn't be able to find. SHIELD, however, was watching them closely. They didn't do anything about me at first, but when I turned 12 and my first two soulmarks appeared, they took an interest in me."

"It was about a week after my birthday, we were at home. I was practicing new spells from a book I got in my room when I suddenly heard screams from down the hall. I ran out to see what was going on, only to find a person standing over my father's corpse." Tears were streaming down my face at this point.  I could hear my mother's screams in my head; see the glint of metal from the stranger. "My powers suddenly flared. Flames began eating at the house. My mother appeared in front of me suddenly and told me to run. I begged her to come with me but she refused. I dragged her with me anyway."

"As we ran down the hall, a beam fell from the ceiling on top of her. I tried to lift it off of her but I was too emotional to use my powers. She told me to go without her. She said, 'Run, Ayda! Run and don't look back. Promise me you'll listen.' So I did and ran. Eight years later I still regret listening to her." A few more tears fell down my face.

Loki had been silent this whole time. I sniffed a couple times before I looked up at him. He had tears in the corners of his eyes. I gave him a melancholy smile.

"It's all in the past now. Nothing more than a sad story. Now, we have something to do. First, you need to tell the truth about why you're here." He looked shocked. My smile grew. "Yes, I know the truth about why you're here. I'll tell you how some other time. Second, you three need to stop hiding." I turned to look at the large rock we sat next to.

Tony, Steve, and Thor all walked up from behind the boulder. Steve and Thor at least looked ashamed at eavesdropping. They all had some scuffs and scrapes as if they got into a fight. I narrowed my eyes at them. "You were fighting, weren't you?" Steve looked even more ashamed. I shook my head and walked to him first.

I cupped his face in my hands. There were tear marks in the dirt on his face. I kissed him gently on the cheek and watched as the injuries disappeared. I gave him a shy smile and walked to Thor next.

He had a huge grin on his face. He immediately wrapped his arms around me in a big hug. I yelped as my feet were lifted into the air. "I am happy to have finally met you. Your beauty is more than I ever could have imagined." I blushed as he placed me back on the ground. His happiness was infectious and I felt myself smile as well.

"It is nice to meet you as well. Though I'd rather you didn't fight." He gave me a sheepish smile.

I moved to Tony last. He had his face mask down and looked slightly put off that I'd ignored him until now. I chuckled. "I didn't forget you." I placed a small kiss on his cheek. He let out a sigh of relief as his various aches and pains disappeared.

I clapped my hands together as I stepped away. "Now, I think we all need to sit down and have a long conversation."

"It is definitely past due."
