No One's POV

The explosions had almost brought the airship to the ground. Tony and Cap had managed to fix the engine and keep it airborne. By the time the Hulk had been calmed down, and everyone had gathered again, it was the middle of the night.

"Besides Ayda being gone, we have few casualties. Including Agent Coulson." Fury's voice was tired sounding. Phil had been one of his best friends; it was a hard loss. "Agent Romanoff did manage to recover Agent Barton. They are both recovering in the med bay. Does anyone else have any bright ideas?"

Circe was sitting in the chair that Ayda had been in earlier, looking around with eyes that were far too intelligent for an animal. They dashed from face to face expecting them to come up with something. They were Ayda's Fated Ones; that had to mean they were at least semi-intelligent, right??

The little fox squirrel watched as they bickered like children. She was seriously worried about the fate of the world if this continued.

Eventually, she jumped onto the table and yipped, getting everyone's attention.

"What is it, small one?" Thor addressed the familiar directly. The others looked at him oddly, but Thor was from a different world; things like this weren't out of the ordinary.

Circe tilted her head to the side before lunging at him. She bit into his outstretched digit, drawing blood.

Thor jumped back in surprise as the tiny creature unlatched her jaw from around his finger. "Ouch, that was uncalled for. I am only trying to help your Soul Sister."

Circe licked her lips, catching a leftover drop,  and jumped to the floor suddenly. The group stood around and watched as her form began to twist and change. Her fur moved on its own as she grew. First to the size of a larger dog than a leopard until finally, a young-looking woman stood before them. She had the same grey-colored hair and rosy eyes as the fox squirrel. Her skin was the color of cocoa, and she wore a pink greek style chiton.

"Finally. I've been stuck like that for a while. I love Ayda, but she's not powerful enough yet for me to return to my true form often." Everyone gave her blank looks. "And really you guys let her go like that? You are some of the stupidest mortals ever. I'm talking about you too Thor; mortal or not, you should have gone after her. For all her intelligence, that girl is stupid and impulsive."

"I'm sorry, ma'am." Steve finally cut in. Looking at everyone's faces, he wasn't the only one confused. "But who are you exactly?"

She tilted her head to the side and stared at him with pink eyes. "I thought it was obvious. I am Circe. Immortal sorceress, and lady of Asgard."

_ _ _ _ _

"So let me get this straight," Everybody sat once more at the table. Clint and Natasha had returned from med bay. They'd let Circe explain what was happening and more of her past. "You are a powerful magician, who used to live on Asgard. When you gave yourself immortality, Odin believed you were too powerful and banished you. When you landed on Midgard, you were weak and unable to take human form. What I don't get is why you had to bite Pointbreak to look like that." Tony had been the most skeptical of her story.

Circe rolled her eyes, "Thor is of Asgardian blood. They are naturally more powerful. All have magic running in their veins, even if only traces. Thor has enough in him to allow me to hold this form for roughly twelve hours."

"We've already wasted an hour. What is it exactly you had to tell us?" Steve finally cut to the point. If she only had so much time to speak to them, it shouldn't be wasted.

"Ayda is smart, but she tends to rush into something if she believes she can help. It's what got us caught by SHIELD. She left me here because she assumed that our telepathy had no range limit."

"Assumed?" Bruce spoke for the first time. He was calm but concern was making his eyes change from brown to green.

"We've never been very far apart since I connected to her—no more than a dozen yards. When Loki took her, he knocked her unconscious. Right about now, Ayda is probably waking up and realizing she can't reach me. What's more, Loki's true intentions have been discovered by the Chitori. He can no longer aid us from his side either. We need to figure out where they plan to open the portal quickly. Without me, Ayda doesn't have enough power to keep up a mental shield for long. If the General is as smart as I believe him to be, he will try and use the scepter on her."

"She'll be turned against us," Clint said. He knew firsthand what it was like to be under the scepter's control. Watching your body move on its own, completely unable to do anything but what you are commanded. "We have to stop them"

"Exactly. We can't let that happen. If the enemy gets a hand on her powers, there no telling what could happen. The words of power she uses? It's something to help limit her powers. If they realize that and unleash her full power, the enemy could cause an explosion with the same power as a nuclear blast." Circe mimed an explosion with her hands.

"Then there's not much time. We have to find her before her mental shield runs out. Bruce, has your tracker located the Tessaract yet?" Tony looked over at the nuclear physicist.

He pulled up a small screen, "Just moments ago the single peaked in Manhatten, specifically," he grew quiet for a brief second,

"Stark Tower."

It is done at last!!! I've gotten so many new readers lately and you have no idea how much I appreciate the comments. I read every single one and it always makes my day, so please keep them coming. I am in school so I'm doing my best at updates. If things keep going as they are now, especially since I just got a new laptop and don't have to type on my itty-bitty phone screen anymore, I may be able to post some of my WIPs as well.

Also, if enough people agree, I may start up a Discord server to chat with those that would like. Let me know if that sounds like a good idea.

Have a good day/night!!
