Just Another Day At Work

I woke up to the smell of bacon coming from the kitchen, rolling over and pushing my face into my pillow, desperately trying to make the headache leave. I heard Harli laugh from the living room area, and rolled out of bed, pulling open the door. "Weasley!" I called out, making him jump and spin around, "It's very disrespectful to cook bacon in the home of a vegetarian." I continued, crossing my arms over my chest. He huffed and opened his mouth to protest but I just laughed and walked back into my room, closing the door behind me. I flopped back down onto my bed and looked over to the desk by the window where the small round clock ticked to ten past eight. I looked back up to the ceiling, mentally preparing myself for the day ahead, working with the twins uses to much energy.

I pulled on my t-shirt, this time an orange one, with the logo on the left side. I pulled on some straight leg, black jeans and tucked the shirt into them. I sat down at my desk and dragged some brown eyeliner across my eyelids and flicked it out, patted some concealer under my eyes, pulled some mascara through my eyelashes and swiped my lipgloss on. I opened my hair gel and ran it through my hair, as an attempt to keep the curls from falling out. I jumped as Harli knocked on my door, swinging it open, "You ready to go Riles?" She said, slinging her bag over her shoulder. "Yeah." I said, pulling on my baggy, white zip up hoodie and throwing my backpack over my head.

As we entered the shop, the violently pink display shone bright, as George pulled it to the front of the shop. "So all my work yesterday was for nothing?" I said, huffing and crossing my arms over my shoulder, "No, just-" George started, "Just, we're gonna undo everything you did yesterday." I said. George furrowed his eyebrows and stood up straight, "Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning!" He said, a cheeky grin on his face. I rolled my eyes, "A hungover vegetarian woke up to someone cooking bacon in their apartment." glaring at Fred as I spoke, who winked at me from the stairs. I walked over to the counter and dropped my backpack to the floor, opening the till and rifling through the money, counting it.

Harli approached me after I was done counting, "No." I said, knowing she was going to ask to sit behind the counter all day. She pouted dramatically, "Maybe after lunch but I need to sit down this morning, my head is killing me." I said, pulling the stool between my legs and plopping down onto it. She leaned over the counter and kissed my forehead, I laughed, "That did help actually." I said, leaning my head onto my hand. "Here, I knew you'd need it." She said, sliding a bottle of water over the counter. "Legend." I said, unscrewing the bottle and downing most of it in one go. "You've put more makeup on today, any reason?" She said, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively. "Because I look like death underneath this." I said gesturing my hand in a circle around my face. Harli smirked and raised her eyebrow, "Not because you're hoping a certain Weasley brother will pop back in today?" She said. I shoved her arm, "No, Harli, because my eye bags are darker than Lucius's " I said, making her giggle. The bell above the door rang as kids entered the shop, Harli made her way over, becoming the perfect saleswoman to make them buy as much as possible.

As the day dragged on, my headache didn't get any better, and I stayed sat behind the counter, talking as little as possible to the people that came to buy things, watching Fred and George talk kids into buying the skiving snack-box and watching Harli flit about the shelves and displays, making sure everything was fully stocked. Harli went out to buy us both lunch, bringing me back a cheese sandwich, crisps and a hell of a lot more water. I sat in the staff break room for an hour, George dipping in and out to make coffee's and tea's. After my break I came back down to the shop floor and saw someone leaning over the counter. "Sorry, I was on my break, I thought they-" I said whilst walking over to them, pausing as I stood behind the counter and looked into their face. "Hey Riles." Bill said as I took my seat back on my stool. "Bill, hey, what are you doing here?" I said, clearing my throat and pushing my hair behind my ear. "I finished work early so I thought I'd pop by." He said, that same lopsided smile on his face I'd seen yesterday.
