7 - Be Safe!

Waking up the next morning, You feel your eyelids being prodded at by the sunlight peeking through a crack in the curtains. You attempt to kick them closed with your foot but are interrupted by the blonde coming over and gripping the curtains, gently closing them for you.

Kurapika looked at you, swatting a strand of hair from his forehead and tucking it behind his ear. "Good morning y/n, are you hungry?"

You slowly sit up and twist to each side, cracking your back. "Ehh, a little bit.  This hotel does room service, right? What time is it even?"

"Yeah, of course they do room service! It's 9 am; they stop serving breakfast at 10 am, so if we're going to get something, it should be now," he says in a cheery tone, walking away from the curtains, inching closer to your bed.

You rub your eyes and blink hard to try to wake up. "Just get me whatever you get; that works!"

Kurapika walks over to the nightstand next to you and presses "1" on the phone, directing him to the room service line.

"Hi! I'd like to order breakfast for my room. I'll have two banana muffins....that's it."

Ew no

Trying not to be overheard by the person on the other end of the call, you whisper yell, "Boooringgg, let's just split a waffle or something. Get lots of whipped cream! Ooh! And strawberries, Kay?"

Kurapika covers the phone with his hand, "Um ok, that works, I suppose."

"Actually, make that one waffle please, and add a very generous amount of whipped cream. Thank you." He listens for a response, thanks the worker in a monotonous voice with a slight grin, and puts the phone back in its spot

"They said it'll be ready in 10 minutes, and it cost about 2010 Jenny (15 US dollars). That's pretty pricy for one waffle if you ask me... I hope it's worth it. I've never had a waffle before." the blonde says as he scratches his neck

"What?! You've never had a waffle your entire life? You are realllyyy missing out."

"It's not that big of a deal y/n, I mean...Well, now that I think about it, there's a lot of things I haven't done. I haven't taken the time to enjoy the little things in life ever since the incident with my clan. And when I was in the clan, I stuck to a pretty strict schedule and only ate healthy foods.~"

"Well, your first step to living life to the fullest will be eating this waffle with me!" Immediately after you say that you realize how cheesy you sound.

"Uhh, okay weirdo, sounds good. Don't get too excited." he mutters in a playful tone, nudging your shoulder

(Knock Knock)

An unfamiliar voice yells, "Room service!" From behind the front door.

"I'll get it!" you say as you leap from the bed and scramble to the entrance

You grab the hot plate from the woman in the hall, pay for the meal while closing the door, and turn around. To your surprise, Kurapika was now directly in front of you.

How did I not hear him?

"I'll take the plate; it looks really hot," he says, grabbing it before you have the chance to answer.

You look really hot

"Thanks Kurapika! Now c'mon, let's eat; I'm starving."

You both sit down on the bed, grab a fork, and take a big bite of waffle.

"Oh my god y/n, this is amazing." Kurapika says with a childlike gleam in his eyes

"Waffles are my favorite food by far; I'm so glad you like it." You say, your mouth full of waffle
