1 year later...

The crisp autumn wind was tossing leaves into the air all around them. They had gone out to celebrate the publication of Kitty's book. After one and a half years she had finally written, edited and submitted her book enough times for it to be published. Anna couldn't be more proud and so she had readily agreed to come out on a chilly walk with her and Lemon, who was now a fully grown dog. The air had a special atmosphere.

"It's funny how things work out, isn't it?" Kitty said abruptly, gently squeezing Anna's gloved hand as Lemon skipped through the leaves in front of them. 

"What do you mean?" Anna asked, squeezing back.

"Well this time last year you turned up on my doorstep out of the blue, and now we have been seriously dating for almost a year. I still haven't forgiven you for scaring me like that." she laughed. "My book wasn't finished, my baby was still a baby," she said, gesturing to Lemon.

"I didn't mean to... I just knew it was the right thing."

"I'm not complaining..." she grinned, as Anna kissed her on the cheek, wrapping her arms around her. All of a sudden, a pair of muddy paws bowled the pair over, and they laughed as suddenly they were sat in a pile of golden leaves.

"Are you OK?" Kitty spluttered from next to her, hugging Anna as she was kissed on the forehead. And suddenly there it was... Memories...

"I'm Kitty, a struggling romance writer who has never been in a relationship..."

"That doesn't sound very easy. How can you write about something you have no experience with?"

"I cant. That's the problem."

"WHY ARE YOU HUGGING MY GIRLFRIEND..."

"UGLY COW..."

"Clarissa has been hit by a bus..."

"Kitty, I'm Going back to Germany..."

"Kitty?" Anna whispered, gently tapping her on the shoulder. This wasn't the first time Kitty had zoned out within the past year. She knew she had found it hard.

"What?" she said, shaking herself out of it.

"Are you feeling alright?" Anna coaxed

"Yeah," she nodded. "Just... thinking about stuff. I can't believe the last year. It's crazy. I started off as a single person who was struggling through writing a romance book and had no idea what to write about or how to write it." 

"Are you saying that you wish it had never happened?" Anna asked delicately, not wanting to upset Kitty on such a happy day.

"No no nooooooooooooooo," she smiled, "I am happy how things worked out, I'm over here with the best girlfriend and the best little doggo anyone could ever wish for."

Anna smiled, however silently wished something could change between them. She stood up and stood in front of Kitty and cleared her throat.

"I'm happy as well. I love how you hold me. I love how you tell me I'm beautiful. I love how you look at me funny when I say something stupid. I love how you make me happy. I love how you smile when I see you. I love how you laugh when I say something random or stupid. I love the face you make when i snort when I laugh. I love how you ask me if I'm alright when I can't stop laughing. I love how you make me feel. I love how you like my pajamas, I love how you talk about music for hours, I love how you squeeze me so hard when I hug you. I love how I can talk to me for hours about anything and you will listen. I love how everything is imperfectly perfect. I love how nervous I get when I see you yet I feel more comfortable with you than with anyone else. I love how you make me happy,I love how you tell me everything will be alright. I love how you worry about me and take care of me and I love how motivated you are to achieve your goals no matter how big or unachievable they may seem. I love how we talk about being together forever. I love how I can see us being together forever." Anna tailed off and looked over at Kitty, who had tears in her eyes.

"So what does this mean..." she whispered delicately, hugging Lemon close. Anna got down on one knee in front of her.

"Katherine Howard, Will you marry me?"
