Kitty stared at Anna in a state of absolute shock, Lemon jumping up at her leg.
"You are in Germany," Kitty said definitely.
"Kitty, I promise I am here."
"You're in Germany."
"I'm here. I can prove it." Anna giggled as Kitty shook her head.
"Can you?"
"Yes..." Anna smirked, picking Kitty up and spinning her around before kissing her.
"No... ok, I believe you, hey!" Kitty squealed as Anna's lips left hers. "You absolute IDIOT of a woman." She yelled. Anna looked confused.
"I- I'm sorry I was just trying to-"
"You have no idea how much I've missed you." Lemon yapped and Kitty picked him up, scratching his behind his ears.
"Who's this?" She smiled at the pair.
"Oh, this is Lemon, my rescue puppy." Kitty beamed with happiness. Anna looked at the floor, waiting for Kitty to let her in.
"Can I come in?" She bit her lip anxiously. Kitty smirked at Anna.
"Since when have you ever waited to be invited in? You usually barge right in." She teased her and stepped back from the door, letting Lemon down onto the floor.
"Ugh, rude." Anna stuck her tongue out before gently kissing Kitty on the cheek. She walked in and looked around the familiar flat. "It's tidier than when I left," she commented and laughed at Kitty's outrage.

"Ermm excuse me?!" Kitty shrieked. "I usually keep it tidy but sometimes people come to my house and mess up my tidying routine. Do you want a drink or a brownie or something?" Anna unwrapped her scarf from around her neck and left her combat boots by the door. 

"Umm, I think a tea please and who would I be to say no?" She smiled and flopped on the sofa. 

"Greedy and lazy, what a combination." Kitty laughed, but despite the teasing, she went to get Anna a cup of tea and a brownie and sat down next to her. "So..." Kitty blushed, suddenly shy.

"So..." Anna looked into the cup of tea. She felt so awkward it was almost comfortable. Wait no, that didn't make sense. What was even going on?

"You're back because?" Kitty asked, gripping the pink mug as tightly as physically possible. She felt incredibly uncomfortable. She had no idea what to do or say.

"Well, you know... Your abusive liar of an ex dies and then you run 500 miles across the globe and spend 3 days with your family before realizing that there is a pink-haired girl back home in London that you love more than you love her puppy and you realized that you wanted to date her so left your family 3 days before Christmas and voila there you are in her house." Anna sat up and clapped her hands together. 

"Right..."

"Happens to the best of us," Anna shrugged.

"Umm... yeah..." She raised an eyebrow and snuggled into Anna, the Christmas tree throwing dappled light across her face. Kitty smiled. It was strange to have Anna back but in no way was she complaining.

"I think you know you're in love when you see the person and you automatically smile no matter what, when you do anything and everything you can to just be with them or talk to them for even the shortest amount of time. The moments you spend with someone you're in love with feel endless, sometimes you just want to hear their voice and you could talk for hours. Now that we have social media I also think that someone who you are in love with makes your heart skip a beat when you get a notification from them and it's a sweet text or even just a simple heart. It's not easy to fall in love if it's not the person you are meant to be with. I think that when you meet that one special someone you know pretty soon that they are the one you want to be with for as long as you can. When you are able to be comfortable around that person and you are able to be yourself and just laugh and smile and look each other in the eye and your whole face just lights up because you are so happy. That's when you're in love."
