The sound of the slap echoed in Kitty's ears. Clarissa had slapped Anna. Clarissa had slapped Anna. What should she do?

"Anna? Are you there? Are you...are you ok?" her voice trembled and she heard the phone be picked up. "Hello?"

"You're a fat, ugly cow Katherine Howard. Get out of my life AND AWAY FROM MY GIRLFRIEND!!" Clarissa yelled down the phone. Kitty was shocked and heard Clarissa hang up. She got ready for bed but couldn't relax properly. She was too worried. In her dreams the slap sounded over and over again. In her dream she tried to save Anna. In her dream Anna was killed. Kitty woke up in a cold sweat at 5:32am. She rolled over and went for a run. It was better than lying in bed worrying. The sun shone weakly in the sky and the crisp orange leaves were clinging onto the branches of trees. It was liberating and distracted her from last night - well, kind of. She went home and showered before walking to the coffee shop. Kitty hesitated outside before summoning up the courage to walk in and up to Anna, who was at the counter.

"Hello miss," Anna said politely, avoiding eye contact.

"Hi Anna, can I have a chai latte please?" She said as Anna got to work making it. Kitty looked at the counter. "Is....are you ok?" Anna looked confused.

"I have no idea what you are on about." She said firmly, focusing on the order.

"But...Clarissa, she slapped you..." Kitty said weakly. Anna looked at Kitty.

"Why do you think my girlfriend would slap me?" she laughed

"But I-" Kitty was cut off.

"Kitty, no. There is no WAY Clarrie would ever slap me." Anna said determinedly, thrusting Kitty's drink at her. "Enjoy your day" Kitty walked to a table, shocked. She pulled her laptop out and started to write.

"Jas, I don't know what I've done wrong, but I hope you find what you're looking for out there. I hope you find the kind of happiness that exists on your own terms. I hope you truly take the time to figure out what moves you, what encourages your soul, what you deeply crave from life and I hope you have the courage to chase that. I hope that you have the courage to believe that you are deserving of everything you desire, that you are capable and worthy of  curating the kind of life for yourself that sparks something within you. You have a fire inside of you-I hope you never let convenience, or comfort, or the easiness of standing still put it out. I hope that you show the world what you can do, and I hope that you fulfill everything you dream of."

Kitty looked from her laptop to see the one person she did not wish to see. The one, the only Clarissa Kirk. Wonderful. Kitty's eyes followed her as she kissed Anna. Her blood was boiling. How could Anna continue as if nothing? Clarissa had literally slapped her, and here she was acting all lovey dovey with her. It obviously wasn't her place to say anything. She didn't even know Anna that well. She watched unhappily as Anna collected her belongings and headed out, Clarissa behind her. She shrunk into herself as a judgemental eye was swept over her alongside a fake smile. Kitty gulped and swallowed the last of her latte, looking away. She had seen on Anna's instagram that she had a date today, and was most definitely not bitter. Not at all. Okay, maybe a little, Anna was cute and friendly and funny and helpful and fiery. Kitty saw herself as an ugly undescribable mess. Her self esteem wasn't her best quality. She sighed and left the cafe.

"Seriously, you never know the true impact you can have on those around you. You never know how much someone needed that smile you gave them. You never know how much your kindness turned someone's entire life around. You never know how much someone needed that long hug or deep talk. So don't wait to be kind. Don't wait for someone else to be kind first. Don't wait for better circumstances or for someone to change. Just be kind, because you never know how much someone needs it."

Kitty was sat on her carpet curled up in a rainbow knitted blanket writing her book. Turns out she was good at being nice in her book but not in real life. She had to text Anna to apologize, Clarissa or no Clarissa.

Text to Anna: I just want to say I'm dreadfully sorry for being such a blatantly nosy busy body and I am going to leave you to have your wonderful caring relationship with your pretty girlfriend. I'm very sorry to have accused her of slapping you and I know that you are both perfect for each other and happy. I have been very intrusive and rude and I am going to stay out of your life. I will not come to the coffee shop you work at anymore and I am going to block your number. If you need me desperately my address is 2a terrace square. I'm so sorry. Kitty xxx

She pressed the block button rather tearfully and got changed into her pyjamas and got ready for bed. But just as she took a glass into the kitchen she heard footsteps traipsing up the stairs outside of her flat. She looked at the door nervously and sprang back as she heard some unearthly groans from outside of it. She grabbed a baking tray and wielded it in front of her as someone pounded on the door.

"Who's there?" Kitty shrieked as the pounding didn't stop

"Kit...It's me...Anna..." Anna whispered. Kitty looked apprehensively at the door. "Please Kitty... I need... help." Kitty threw the door open to see Anna. But she looked... different... her clothes were blood stained, her left eye was swollen, there was a huge gash down the side of her face.

"What happened to you!" Kitty asked, concerned and ushering Anna inside.

"I...she..." Anna fell to the floor.
