Part 8 - Danger

The door closed and I felt uncomfortable

"mrs, L/n? Am I right"

"yes sir"

"you where sent to Anteiku to investigate recent rumors on the establishment, correct?"

"that us correct sir"

"and you found no traces of ghouls in Anteiku, correct?"

"yes sir"

I knew where he was going with this and I didn't like it. I knew I was being watched and there where recording security cameras in the room so I had to choose my word correctly.

I can't just tell them about kaneki and the others, they helped Mr after all and I had to return the favor.

"so why when we investigated the matter we found many ghouls"

"I-I don't know sir"

"explain your entire mission in detail"

I couldn't tell them the truth so I had to think of something, quickly

"sir, I was assigned to investigate Anteiku, an ordinary looking coffee shop rumored to be keeping ghouls. The evening after I got my assignment I went to investigate the matter.

I went inside and ordered a coffee not to look suspicious, me and one of the waiter made some small talk and he wouldn't say anything. I asked him about the recent  and he said it was a bunch of kids pretending, I obviously didn't believe him so I stayed a little longer and to my surprise a bunch of kids run by and costumes. Afterwards I went home. The next day I came to work and gave in my report. I went back two more times and both of the Times everything was perfectly normal. "

I was hard to read his facial expression, I couldn't tell if he believed it or not

" Allright Mrs. L/n, is everything you just told us the truth.? "

" indeed sir"

There was a small pause intill the silence was interrupted by the sound of a wally talky.

"we'll go to plan B alpha"

I didn't like the sound of that. And with that I heard a sound. *chick chick* like a shotgun reload. I turned around to be faced with a fully loaded gun.
I decided to still play dumb.

"what is this? Why is a gun pointed at me?"

"Y/n, we have reason to believe that you are not just working with the ghouls but you are indeed one of them."

I wanted  to get out of there. To leave and never return. Should I continue to play dumb or attack. I'll just let them do the first move

"sir, as a member of the anti ghoul organization I plead innocent and I would like to request the gun to be taken away from my face."

There was silence. Shit I was too demanding then i felt a sharp pain in my left leg. THEY SHOT ME!?

I couldn't believe it, my co-workers, my colleagues. Everyone was against me. My leg gave in and I felt to the ground and lost consciousness.

When I woke up all I saw was blood. I panniced when I noticed it wasn't my blood. I was the only person alive in that room. I rushed to the security camera to see what happened.
