His heart was racing. Cold sweat breaking down the side of his face. His lips shaking from nervousness. Nevertheless, he kept a straight face then handed a note to the person in front of him. Seeing the note was taken from his hands, he slowly walked away but there was a tug on his arm preventing him to move any further.
"You're not the one who placed the rose and the note in my locker, are you? Seems like it. Whoever it is wouldn't give the note personally that fast, right?"
He could only nod vigorously. Hoping she will let him go. He can't stand that icy glare. Her eyes were piercing through his body to his soul. Plus, the grip on his arm wasn't losing it's firmness. His whole body was trembling. Why did it have to happen this way? All he did was fulfill this little task he was told to. No one said anything about getting interrogated.
"L-look, umm... M-miss, I was just told to, uhh, give this note to you. My friend blackmailed me 'cause he was too lazy to do this. He was going to post a embarrassing photo of mine. He said the note was passed on and I was the last one to get a hold of it. Now I'm giving it to you. Would you please just let me go?"
His rambling was slowly annoying her. She released her grip on his arm then the guy completely run for his life like someone was chasing him. She didn't need to worry about that guy anymore. She read the note that was given to her.
"I'm sorry but I can't give away my identity yet. I was wondering if we could get to know each other and you know be friends? If it's not okay with you, it's totally fine. Let me know by replying on this note, okay?"
Jessica did reply on the note. She wrote, "It's okay with me but why can't we see each other than writing on these notes and opening my locker without permission? And please tell me that you're not some kind of stalker."
She didn't know where to place the note so that 'Mystery Man' can get it without anyone seeing it. It seems like there was no other way than to place it inside her locker. She opened her locker again and placed the note inside, closed the locker then went home. Too much happened in one day, she really needs rest.
That 'Mystery Man' is really something. Jessica didn't find him annoying or anything but she thinks it's sweet with a little creepiness on the side. She realized something though. Her heart fluttered when she saw the note yet she still refuses to believe. She just have to be sure first.

What Jessica didn't know was Lander was watching the whole scene from his locker, which is in front of the library door. Almost in front of Jessica's. He felt bad for his classmate who got interrogated by Jessica. He should thank him tomorrow.
There were still people in the hallway. Lander couldn't get the note in Jessica's locker. He decided to get the note tomorrow morning. He still has to go to Deion's house.
As he was walking towards his car in the parking lot, he saw Jessica walking by the sidewalk.
'It's quite dangerous to walk alone. Should I take her to her house instead?'
He was still contemplating if he should or shouldn't. He got in his car and decided to be a gentleman and take the girl to her house safely.
'But what if she hints that I'm a jerk hitting on her?'
He is completely frustrated. Why does his brain comes up with these ideas in the most inconvenient time? He spent too much contemplating that when looked up, his target was gone. He drived slowly with his headlights off. He wouldn't want the girl to be thinking that he's stalking her. As soon as he spotted her, he finally decided to give her a ride but much to Lander's surprise, his target already entered a house.
So that's her house.
He smiled knowing that Jessica is safe. He headed to Deion's house. He realized that he's the only one missing as he sees Deion's and Henry's car parked outside the house. As he entered the house, he directly went to Deions room. As expected, he saw the two waiting for him.
"About time." Deion said, standing up from his computer chair.
Lander felt a cold breeze passed throught his nape. He suddenly felt cold.
"Sit down and we have a lot to talk about."
