Royalty is not something you truly want. Forced marriages, extra responsibilities, meetings, forbidden of actual love, you can't have fun either (unless you're a rebellious ruler), and basically slaving your life away to people who don't actually care about you. Would you like to live like that? To live without the experience of having friends, falling in love, your first heartbreak (actually you don't want that..), your first kiss, sightseeing, almost everything everyone else can experience (if they have the money) and you can't. Do you actually want to be royalty? Sure you can travel but will you have time to travel and experience all of these things? Wouldn't it be better to have someone you actually care for you by your side? Yeah, it very much would. As the future leader change the fucking rules.
