I had given Camila some time to fully wake up before I asked her if she wanted to eat. I wasn't sure how she was feeling right now so I let her get used to the day first. "Mila? Can I dry your hair? I dont want you to get sick..." I asked, seeing that her long hair was still wet and so was the pillow and my sweater on which she had been laying. She grabbed a wet strand of hair and nodded, noticing as well that it was pretty wet. "Let me grab a blowdryer." I said, standing up and getting it from her bathroom. "Okay, come here... can you sit down on front of me?" I asked, plugging the dryer and asking her to sit on the edge of the bed. She lifted herself up from the bed and sat down in front of me, between my legs so I could easily dry her hair. "Is it okay if I touch your hair?" "Yeah..." She whispered. And that small quiet, soft, little whisper made me so, so happy and proud. "Alright, thank you for trusting me, Mil." I let her know. With the she turned around to look at me. She didnt look me in the eye but she was looking at me. "I- I... thank you... f-for helping... m-me." She stuttered. I was amazed.... this was the most she had ever talked an I cant say how incredibly proud it made me. "Always Mila.... and I am so, so proud of you." She gave me a short smile and turned back around. "I'm going to turn on the blowdryer now, Mila. Dont be scared." I let her know, before turning it on on the lowest setting so it wasn't too loud. I knew loud sounds could trigger her so I was careful and let her know before turning it on. I then gently took her hair and brushed it with my fingers while drying it. "Are you okay?" I asked, making sure she was still feeling okay. "Yeah..." She softly said. I barely heard her due the lout noises from the dryer but I managed to hear her whisper.
"All done Mila. Wait, let me get you a new pillow.... or just take mine." I said, switching it with hers. "Thanks" She smiled gently. "Are you feeling better?" She nodded as she laid down in bed, pulling her blanket back up. I smiled at that. She was looking so beautiful... even though she was so incredibly hurt. She still had my sweater on which looked huge and a pair of sweats. After admiring her for a bit, she looked at me questioning. "Are you hungry? I bought food earlier when I went out but we never got to eat it.... can I get it so we can have breakfast together? Even though it is almost lunch time..." I shrugged, waiting for an answer. I could see the hesitation in her eyes but then she nodded a little, making me smile. I rubbed her shoulder after making sure she would allow me to and told her I would go down and grab it. I rushed into the living room, picking up the two paper bags. Then I re entered the bedroom and saw that Mila was already sitting up in bed, waiting for me. "Hey... I bought a different breakfast today." I said, sitting back down on the bed. I could see a curious look on her face... maybe she is going to eat today. I was praying she would. I had also brought more medication for her stomach pains and the antibiotics for the uterine rupture. "Here, take this later." I placed it down on her nightstand before opening the bag to give her her drink. "Here.... I brought some tea...herbal tea.... it will calm you." I gave her the paper cup which she carefully took. It wasn't hot anymore but a little lukewarm. "Then I decided that we could have a sweet breakfast and bought us some donuts. Some with sprinkles.... chocolate.... sugar glaze and also with nothing, just simple donuts." I opened the box, exposing the donuts. I waited for a facial expression from her and saw a very small smile. "I am not pressuring you to eat all of theses... maybe eat one at least? Pick one..." I offered. I watched her eyes scan the paper box as she chose one... the one with pink sprinkles and it made me smile. As she took it out carefully, I said "I especially picked that one out for you." Then I took one with chocolate and put the paper box down. I also took a sip from my coffee and waited if Mila would eat. I saw her eye the donut before very hesitantly guiding it to her mouth. I smiled even more when she took a small bite and I did the same. This was progress.... huge progress.
Mila dient finish the whole donut but that was alright. She did finish the tea though which was good. "Do you feel any pain?" I asked after I had gotten ready while Mila waited on the bed. "A little." She whispered. "Have you taken the medication?" She nodded. "Okay, then I guess it's going to fade soon." she nodded at that. "You can go and get ready now Mila. I'll be downstairs putting the things away, alright? Then I want to show you what I bought for you... I brought some stuff." She nodded again, carefully standing up and walking to get some clothes. I then saw how... sweet she was looking with my hoodie. "Mila, you can keep my hoodie on if you want...." I offered, no getting shy myself. "She looked at me and gave me a small smile along with a nod. "Thank you... it is... cozy." She said hesitantly. I nodded smiling before leaving the room to give her some privacy so she could get dressed and as always I didnt close the door, just in case and because she wasn't used to sit just now.
