She turned towards him, his outfit making her eyes spark with astonishment. Assuming his attire was strictly for work. He stood by the door, a few stands of platinum blonde falling across his dark eyes.

He was utterly refined and mature. It brought absence of attraction to her.

She looked down at her food suddenly interested. Fiddling with her fork she felt a slow rumble of a chair locking into place. She looked up, making eye contact with his grey shadowed eyes.

"Excuse my short absence, work was quite occupying."

She turned her head towards scorpius who nodded in response to his father. She couldn't help but remember the words he spoke.

She wasn't ready.

How was she supposed to cut this blasted steak if it was so rou-

"Do you need help Ms. Potter?"

She darted her eyes toward his who perked a brow. She placed her knife and fork to her side.

"I-I. I think so, if you would be so kind as to call an elf to help m-"

"No need. If the elf's happened upon your napkin, it would be rather unfortunate. I would be glad to help you."

She stifled a small nod before adjusting herself in her seat. She took a deep breath as two hands steadied themselves next to her, grabbing her silverware. She could feel his hot breath against her neck.

"Now, watch as I take the silver wear gently into my hands. There's no need to be rough at such a fastened pace."

She let out a shaky breath, reaching for her glass of wine.

"Ahh, pay attention Ms. Potter. You need a lesson or two, I will assign you one, and would be glad to aid it with you. Now, please."

She let her arms fall in her lap.

"Good-girl." He whispered in her ear. "-gently press down onto the meat, and maneuver your hand in a quick motion. This will get it exactly where you want it."

Was he- was he talking about the steak?

"Move it quicker as you get deeper. This will get what you want faster, but don't be stupid. Going to quickly can create a ratchet cut, or make a sharp scrap on the plate. So you have to balence the speed. Got it?"

She let out a breathless gasp shocked by his new touch on her shoulder.

"Y-yes." She mumbled out.

His fingers ran down her arm as he handed her the knife.

"Good. Good-girl. Now you try."

———

She swallowed roughly as his fingers left her body and discarded themselves to his own seat.

The meat was perfectly cut in cubes, the smell emitted off. But it wasn't the steak she smelt. It was him. His sharpened cologne with hints of mint and pine. And she loved it.

"Father are you still going to that business trip in France over the balls date."

"No, scorpius, they had canceled it do to recent activity's in the ministry. The ball will still be on, and you both will still be up and center to everyone's attention."
