I waited by myself at the library. I let Nene and Kou come along with me, and I heard them talking down the hall.
"Hey, Kusari! How you feeling?" Kou asked, walking up towards me.
"Just as I normally am?" I asked, wondering why he asked that.
"Well, I was just wondering. Ever since we went to the boundaries you haven't been the same." He suggested, sitting down.
"Oh, I was just tired. Don't worry about me." I smile, tracing my fingers against the book I was reading as I waited.
An hour passed, and soon Kou sighed.
"You're bored, aren't you?" I said, smiling up at him. Nene was asleep. She's not one for staying up late.
"That's not it. I'm interested to learning more about Hanako, too."
"Are you just saying that so you can learn his weaknesses?" I asked, leaning into my hand. Kou seemed to stop.
"Well..." he hesitated. "I've been doing some thinking, and I honestly don't know that much about the guy. Or that I have a real reason to get rid of him.. besides the fact that he's a toilet germ."
I walked up next to him. "We always seem to see him fight the bad guys. There's no real reason for you to get rid of him.." I turned towards him. "I'm sure after all this is done, we can learn more about our little bathroom ghost. Together, okay?" I ask, smiling. He smiled back, looking a little more content.
"I can see why Teru talks about you all the time.." he mumbled.
"Oh? He does?"
"Yeah. He's always somehow talking about you, since you're his vice." He said softly. "You really do have a charm to you, huh?"
I giggle. "I guess you can say that.."
I never knew that Teru even thought about me after and out of class..
I felt something brush my cheek, and there was a tiny black butterfly. My eyes followed it, watching it rest against a book.
I quickly walked towards it, reaching out to touch the book, only for it to poof up and turn into a door. I quickly checked my phone. Just like I thought.
4:01 am.
"Go wake up Nene. I'll go in first." I say, eating as Kou went over to wake up Nene. I outstretched my hand, a little hesitant, waiting for Kou to come back. Sure, I could deal well with my own, but Kou was the one with the weapon.
I slowly opened the door, looking at the dark library the outstretched ahead of me.
"Oh wow.." I whispered, looking around. There were cobwebs in every corner, and rows and rows of books fell out. I saw lanterns, letting there be light, but it wasn't enough. "I can barely see.."
