Summer in Florida

{Chapter 8}

"Dream?" George called, his voice was shaky.

Dream quickly looked to his right, making eye contact with George and rushed up to him. He pulled him into a tight and George immediately broke down again.

Sapnap walked passed them into his room to give them space to talk.

They held each other for a few moments in complete silence, a comfortable silence.

"I'm so sorry." George sobbed.

"George don't apologise. You should've told me you were feeling like this sooner. I'm not mad okay? I never would be, you can't control your feelings." Dream said trying to comfort George.

That stung.

On the bright side, Dream wasn't mad. But it didn't stop George breaking down into tears. Dream was trying to comfort him, but he made it clear that the feelings weren't mutual. George was glad that him and Dream were okay but that didn't stop it hurting, he knew Dream had a girlfriend and this was the most obvious outcome but it still pained him.

George just hummed in response. This whole situation was just a mess. This trip was supposed to be about the three of them finally meeting after years of socialising through a screen. This was meant to be the best and most important memory, but everything just went downhill.

"Its been such a rough couple of days." George forced a chuckle that only caused him to sob a little more.

"Yeah. Yeah it really has." Dream giggled and realised George from the tight hug. "You look tired, you should go get some sleep."

George just smiled and walked to his room, closing the door behind him. He wrapped himself in the bed quilts, sobbing. He drifted to sleep shortly after.

A week or so had passed since everything happened. They all just seemed to ignore everything that happened, giving George the answer he needed. Him and Dream weren't going to happen and he'd just have to move on and deal with it.

They'd all been living together for some time now, none of them knew whether it was going to be permanent or not so they were just going along with it as each day passed.

Sometimes George needed space to clear his head, to escape his thoughts. Recently he'd started visiting a library that was a few blocks away from the house that the three boys had been staying in.

"Hey guys I'll be back soon." Dream interrupted George from his thoughts and pulled Sapnap's concentration away from the TV.

"Where are you going?" Sapnap nosily asked.

"I'm going to see Eva." Dream rubbed the back of his neck, he clearly found it uncomfortable bringing her up in-front of George.

"Yeah, i'm heading out too." George got up and grabbed his phone.

"Ooo where are you going?" Sapnap asked, once again being nosy.

"None of your business." George smiled, for some reason he didn't want to tell them about his frequent visits to the library. As cliche as it sounds, it was like an escape place for him and he wants to keep it to himself.

"No seriously, you've been randomly disappearing lately. Got a boyfriend?" Sapnap teased, giving George a smirk.

"Bye." George laughed and left the house. Dream stayed awfully quiet.

After around a 10 minute walk, George arrived at the library. He walked over to his usual seating area, it was in the corner on the second floor, it was quiet and nobody usually sits there.

He grabbed his book the he's been reading. It was about a man and woman who fell in love, funnily enough after meeting in a library.

He was completely lost in the book when his focus was taken by a sudden voice.

"Nice choice of book." a tall, brown haired man with blue eyes interrupted him.

"Yeah, it's a good book." George smiled, trying to be friendly.

"I agree." The man smiled back. "I'm Aaron by the way." The man introduced himself.

"I'm George." He replied.

"Cool. You hungry?" The man once again gave him a smirk.

Very bold. George didn't know him but who cares? You only live once right? May as well go for it.

"Yeah actually I am. Want to go grab something to eat? I know a pretty good cafe." George let out a chuckle, shutting his book.

The two arrived at the cafe George recommended. They'd spoken on the way there, they actually had quite a bit in common when it came to reading.

They both were very passionate about books and reading. George enjoyed being able to speak to another person about his love for reading.

They took a seat at table in the corner of the cafe. The cafe wasn't too far from the library or George's house.

"So George, what's your favourite book?" Aaron questioned.

The small question made George's heart flutter. He appreciated how he took so much interest into George, although he was only trying to get to know him, it made George forget. Forget about Dream and all his problems. It was a nice feeling.

"I guess i'd have to say one of the Harry Potter books." George felt his face growing hot, he was definitely going red too.

"Oh cool! I love those books." The man smiled, placing his head into his hands that were supported by his elbows that were leant on the table.

George just simply smiled and looked down at his feet, trying to hide his obvious blush.

A few hours passed without either of them realising how long they had been hanging out. They had gone on a walk and were walking down the street. George check his phone to see the time, he noticed it was getting a bit late, not too late, but his friends didn't know where he was and he should really get back.

"I should really head back home." George spoke up, the man looking at him with a slightly disappointed look on his face.

"Will i see you again George?" The man smiled, coming to a stop and just staring into George's mesmerising eyes.

"I'd like to think so, yes." George smiled, looking down once again.

"Can i have your number?" The man pulled out his phone.

The two exchanged details and said their goodbyes. As George walked home, he couldn't help feel like a little kid. He had such excitement overtaking him. It was a great feeling, and he felt like he deserved this after the rough time he's been having.

Soon enough George arrived home. As he opened the door he saw Dream and Sapnap on the couch, with a girl next to Dream. Eva.

So this was actually meant to be the second to last chapter, but it's been getting a few more reads and i thought why not continue it:)

The ending will still be the same most likely, just a bit of a twist! But hope you enjoyed the chapter and the new character:D
