Another hour passed by, the earlier couple incident from the restaurant completely forgotten. Sakura smiled in awe as she stood under a cascading pile of branches filled with amazingly beautiful pink petals, catching one as it landed in her palm

She had seen these so many times before, but as an adult now, it was hitting her differently than it had just the year before. She held her hand out as a second of the soft pink leaves landed in it. She shut her eyes, inhaling deeply, before sh--

"Sakura."

The pinkette jumped slightly, glancing at the dark-haired male who stood before her now, holding a small plate with--

"What's that?"

"Tonkatsu."

"...what's that?"

"..food."

She rolled her eyes, catching a third petal with a pout. She stared at the plate he was holding out, wondering how a man like him could be so undeniably handsome while at the same time being such an oblivious baby.

((..my friend said he didn't get this until the third time he read this draft, but common Japanese superstition states that if you catch three petals falling from a cherry blossom tree, your wish of love will come true. i decided to add a tiny twist to that, meaning that the person you think of at the time will have some sort of romantic encounter with you in the next twenty-four hours. sadly, sakura-chan isn't aware of this.))

She smiled sweetly, before gently taking the plate from him, making her way to a small bench just under the fullest tree. She sat down, patting the spot next to her with a smile as she scooched over, making space for her roommate.

The Uchiha sat next to her, a sigh escaping his lips as he took a bite of his food.

The pinkette couldn't understand how such a man was kind of nice when he wanted to be. Given his position as the school's heartthrob, she figured he'd be a spoiled brat, right? Isn't that the major plotline of a lot of stories? It was more her wondering how he had been raised so well when his family was so money-stocked.

"..Stop staring at me."

She smiled cheekily, before looking down at her own plate. She stared at it for just a moment, before taking it up and popping a piece into her mouth.

She blinked, glancing over as the Uchiha narrowed his eyes at her.

"..what?"

"..well?"

"It tastes.. weird."

"Of course it does, to you."

She mock-glared at him, chewing her tonkatsu in a comical way.

A small cherry blossom petal fell in his dark hair.

She smiled.

"What?"

"Pink looks cute on you."

"It looks what?"

"N-nothing."

Sasuke stared at her for a few more moments, as if that would automatically change the fact that she had just indirectly called him cute. She couldn't understand what had come over her, but she found it pretty embarrassing.

The two sat in a comfortable silence, something they had gotten quite used to in their - short time, really. only three weeks. - time as roommates. She let her eyes wander, eventually her gaze landed on two small birds chirping freely on a branch.

She realized that they were lovebirds, and smiled as she realized that the male was hopping around the female, courting her. She couldn't help the small chuckle that escaped her lips, which earned an eye-roll from Sasuke, who hadn't seen the birds himself.
