Sakura and Sasuke had relaxed themselves into a not-so-awkward silence. Sasuke was laying face-up on the large couch, while Sakura was still in her comfortable position, reading through her half-lidded eyes.

She was tired, she'd gone to the mall with the group, and they'd spent hours there. She had a few bags of clothing on her bed, that one of the members- Ino, had insisted on buying for her. They consisted of magenta, pink, and white clothing, which were either jeans, skirts, of thin tank tops.

Of course Sakura would not be wearing a skirt

Never.

She was trying to read, but her mind was drifting off to other things.

No matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't focus on it any more.

She'd almost dozed off several times during the past thirty minutes, but was determined to finish the chapter she was reading. Then, one chapter lead into another and eventually she really just did not want to put the book down, no matter how tired she felt.

'The cardiovascular system would...'

Then it all went dark.

Sasuke was wide awake as he lay on the couch, thinking.

He didn't quite understand how the pinkette and his best friend were friends. Come to think of it, the girl must be smart, if her book was anything to go by. And Naruto- He just.. He was Naruto. He wasn't a complete baka, but he still wasn't that smart. From what Naruto had told him during their little outing, the two had been friends since they were nine.

They'd met during a school trip, where they were learning about the history of Japan, and something about ninjas, wars- A lot of made-up things created to entertain children. (see what i did there?) They'd been paired together, and bonded. But, still. Naruto had said that Sakura was annoyed by his mere presence at that time.

So how is it, that the two became fr-

His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a hardcover book smacking against the wooden flooring of the room.

He lifted his head up, to see his roommate asleep on the armchair, her head crooked down against the backing, and her arms folded lightly across her stomach.

She looked peaceful.

Sasuke rolled his eyes, and sat up. He reached down, grabbing the book, and placed it on the center table. It was titled; Tsunade Senju's guide to medicine. Huh, guess he was right.

He glanced over at the sleeping pinkette, and rolled his eyes again. He stood, walked past her chair, and stepped in his room.

He knew it was just the beginning of spring, and the heating in the school wasn't the best. it was sort of cold in the school. Of course, he had no idea what exactly had happened to the pinkette, but he had no idea whether or not cold would affect her.

So, he pulled one of the two blankets off his bed.

He walked out of his room, and fanned the blanket out, watching as it draped over her small figure. covering her. He saw the corners of her mouth tug upwards, but it seemed like more of an unconscious act than one she would have done if she were awake.

He walked back into his room, and shut the door.

Sakura woke up to a literal slamming at her door, which she assumed was Naruto. as she kept hearing the phrase; 'y'know' blurbed in between almost every sentence. ('ttebayo) She groaned, and leaned her head back into the chair, trying to fall back asleep.
