Over the next week, they only saw each other whenever they happened to be in the same part of the building. They said hi, but that was it. On Friday morning, they ran into each other in the elevator going up. It was only them two. "Hey. How are you?" Bakugo asked.

Kirishima let out a loud sigh, "busy. I'm honestly exhausted. But I reviewed everyone's work including yours and I'm really confident about our presentation next week. I actually have a question for you. I usually have someone talk with me while I give the presentation, and you can say 'no' if you don't feel ready, but I was wondering if you would like to join me? I pick someone who knows everything about the topic, and I know you just started, but I would feel really confident about it if you were there with me."

Bakugo nodded his head, "I would love to. Thank you so much."

Kirishima smiled, "great. Happy to hear that. Would it be okay if we stayed maybe two days before the presentation just to kind of rehearse? Maybe even tonight? Just so we can double-check that we have everything in order. Unless you're busy, it's totally fine."

"I am extremely busy with unpacking, but...it can wait."

"Okay. I'll tell Rin to let you know what time."

The elevator stopped and two people walked in. "Hey, Bakugo." They looked up, "hello Mr. Kirishima."

"Good morning."

They turned towards Bakugo and kept talking. Once they got to their floor, Kirishima got out of the elevator without saying anything to either of them. Bakugo watched him walk away. He walked with the person that was with him and they went to their desks.

At around eleven, Bakugo picked up the phone and called Kirishima's number.

Rin answered, "Hello?"

"Hi, it's Bakugo. Could you put me through to Mr. Kirishima?"

"Of course, just one moment."

Bakugo waited for a few seconds.

"Hey, I'm sorry. He's actually unavailable right now. Do you want me to give him a message?"

"Sure. I just wanted to know if he wanted to have lunch again."

"Okay. I'll pass the message along."

"Thank you." Bakugo hung up the phone.

"Did you just call to ask Mr. Kirishima to have lunch with you?"

Bakugo looked over, "yeah. Why?"

He laughed and shook his head, "just don't expect him to say 'yes.'"

"Why not? He invited me to lunch earlier this week. And he asked me to give the presentation with him."

"Yeah. But the big guys are always nice when they need you. Then it's like we don't even exist. I'm just saying, don't get your hopes up."

Bakugo sat back in his chair, "well, maybe you guys are wrong."

He shrugged and went back to working.
