A Simple Hello:

"Hi Danny" I actually Managed to get out as he walked by me in the hall.
"Sup Rosette" he replied, still walking away. I froze in my spot, I couldn't believe he actually knew my name! I walked the last few steps to my locker smiling like crazy. As I spotted my best friend Ashley coming towards me I tried to stop but failed miserably. She knew something was up the moment she walked up to me.

"Hi Danny," I heard someone say. I turned and saw her and managed to get out a "Sup Rosette". I can't believe she actually knew my name. I got distracted and realized I was going in the opposite direction I needed.

"Alright I'll bite what happened?" She asked me as she opened her locker.
"Nothing," I replied, opening my locker trying to avoid eye contact. I had just gotten my locker open when she turned around and shut it.
"Bullshit bitch you're smiling like crazy which is not you, I've never seen you smile for more than a minute so obviously something had to have happened and you best be telling me sense I am your best friend" she said flashing me a smile. God she could be a bitch sometimes but I had to admit she does know me better than most people. She's just lucky I love her.

"Alright, alright, alright, no need to pull the best friend card" I replied, rolling my eyes. "Soooo" she said, making motions with her hands. I took a deep breath before replying. "I said "Hi" to Danny and he said "Sup Rosette"" I replied, opening my locker a second time. "Is that all?" she asked, making a yawning motion before closing her locker and leaning against it. "Yes but he knew my name even though I've never actually spoken to him". "True at least you know you're not invisible to him but you are his best friend's sister oh speak of the devil". I turned and spotted Danny, walking past us. "Danny," she yelled. "Don't," I replied a little too late.

"Danny" I heard someone yell, I turned and it's Rosette's Friend Ashley. Rosette is just standing there like she wanted to be anywhere but there. I guess I should go over to see what she wants.

He was already walking towards us. "You know I hate you right now right" I asked hoping Danny wouldn't hear me. "Oh, why do you hate her" he asked as he came to a stop beside me, Ashley immediately had that evil grin on her face. "Yea why do you hate me?" she asked. "Because you canceled plans for this weekend silly" I said glaring at her. She just rolled her eyes and turned towards Danny. "So I have a question for you," she said. That was my cue to leave. I shut my locker door as he replied "Ask away". "Bye Ashley, Bye Danny" I said walking away. "Bye" I heard him say before I entered my classroom.

"So Danny, what do you think of Rosette?" Ashley asked me. "Why?" I asked. "You can't answer my question with a question," she said. "Well I'm not answering your question without a reason," I said. "Okay don't get so defensive but I can't exactly tell you the reason why I am asking so please just trust me" she replied. "I got to get to class I'll talk to you another time" I said darting off to class.

I didn't really pay attention during class. My mind kept drifting off trying to figure out what Ashley could've asked him. I couldn't honestly get mad at her. I knew she was only looking out for me. Whatever, it was probably for the best anyways. I know that liking him is beyond crazy, because well guys like him don't typically go for girls like me. What was I supposed to do? It wasn't like I could just stop.

I didn't see him again until the ninth period. I decided I didn't want to go to my ninth period, so I found my friend Melanie. "Hey, Mel, can I go to the study hall with you?" I asked.

Study hall was in the cafeteria and the teacher never paid attention. You walked in, signed in and did whatever if you didn't you'd get marked absent. He never noticed anyone who didn't belong either. "Sure, what's wrong?" she asked as we walked towards the cafeteria. "Nothing, just don't feel like dealing with all that bullshit today".

My ninth period was the one class I hated the most, and it wasn't because of the subject or the teacher. My ninth period class was full of all the jocks, and preps, who have always tried to make me feel miserable. They've done everything they could since Pre-k to push my buttons. They've become real pros at it over the years.

Mel looked at me like she didn't quite believe me, but didn't say anything. I sat at a table as Mel went to sign in. I looked around the cafeteria. There were a lot of people I didn't know but one I did. "Hi Danny" I said just noticing him sitting across the table. "Sup Rosette," he said laughing. Before I got a chance to say anything, Melanie sat down giving me a weird look. I went to say something when Daisy, one of the biggest bitches in the school, walked in. She gave me a dirty look and looked at Danny then walked towards a table in the back. Before we knew it he was back with Daisy.

I was sitting in the study hall waiting for Daisy when Rosette walked in the door with her friend, I couldn't remember her name. She went to sign in and Rosette came and sat down at my table. I don't think she realized I was there though she was too busy looking around the room for someone else, probably Calvin, the guy she's always hugging. "Oh hi Danny" she said, noticing me sitting across from her. I laughed, "Sup Rosette," I said. Before she could say anything, her friend came back and then Daisy walked in. She gave Rosette a dirty look then looked at me and motioned for me to follow her back to the table so I did and completely forgot to say bye. "What were you doing sitting with her?" Daisy spat at me. "Talking," I replied. "Why the hell would you want to talk to that skank?" she asked. "She's not the skank you are Daisy and you of all people should know that she's a good listener and everything I mean you were once best friend before you became a complete bitch and stabbed her in the back to make a name for yourself, I mean congrats you got such a wonderful name, Queen Bitch," I snapped leaving.

Daisy wasn't always a bitch. We actually used to be really good friends. She used to be so sweet and innocent, I miss that girl. Daisy got tired of living in the side lines so decided she would make people notice her. I noticed her acting strange a week before the betrayal. It was really small things at first like she started making rude comments about what people were wearing even mine. Then came the bigger changes: she started flirting with the jocks like crazy, and wearing clothes that teased them.

One day I caught her making out with some jock. I had enough so I pulled her away and asked her "What the hell are you doing?" "Living, Rosette, that's what I'm doing, I'm tired of being on the side lines all the time, it's no fun. Aren't you tired of people not noticing you? Come on, loosen up, have some fun. There's a huge party tonight. Come with me you'll see that it's a lot better out here than in the side lines" she said. "No Daisy I'm sorry but I'm not going to sell my soul to the devil to have fun. Yea maybe you're getting noticed but not in a good way. People only notice you because you've become a complete bitch. You've changed so much Daisy I don't think I can be your friend anymore I'm sorry" I told her walking away. "You'll regret this Rosette!!" she screamed.

The next day everybody was pointing at me and laughing. I didn't know why till somebody showed me the video. Daisy had uploaded a video of me dancing with my big stuffed dog. I had forgotten about that video. Daisy and I were playing truth or dare one night and that had been my dare. And that was the day I knew my friend was truly gone.

"Well then" I said. "I wonder if he's mad at me," Melanie asked. "I don't know Mel," I replied.
