Every time they talked or even just looked at each other, both of them would- rather inconveniently- turn a deep shade of crimson before forgetting themselves and feeling free to just enjoy the company.

But, unbeknown to the other half of the pair, both couldn't stop dwelling on the rush which consumed them when they fused. It felt so amazing to be surround by nothing and everything at the same time, to be completely exposed yet smothered in a constant hug. Every time, they would admire the world and how it seemed from their point of view, running their hands through the kept bush of mocha brown spirals which cascaded down their back. They would laugh and jump through sheer joy of simply existing, for their existence was made of love.

It was dawn at the beach house and a 17 year old by the name of Steven Quartz Cutie Pie Diamond Demayo Universe gazed past the window, looking out further to the ocean and how its gentle waves merged perfectly with the sand on the edge of the beach.

Despite the tranquility of the scene which lay before him, a storm raged inside the boy as if millions of butterflies thrashed against his stomach. Normally, he'd be excited for the days when he got to see his girlfriend, but today was different, today he had something extremely important to ask Connie.

Suddenly, Steven heard an overly loud beeping coming from the alarm on his bedside table meaning it was already seven o clock. Plastering that trade mark smile onto his face, he opened his bedroom door to be greeted with the smell of bacon. "Morning Pearl, that smells amazing!" And to be fair, it did smell amazing.
*flattered bird laughs* "Well I have been practicing lately, did you sleep okay?"
"Yeah I had a great sleep, although I did have a pretty weird dream about a pig-horse romance," which was all a lie: he'd actually been awake since 3am after a nightmare to do with his mom.
"Well okay, I'm really not sure you should be watching your phone so close to bed though." At this Steven just giggled and rubbed the back of his neck.

Just as Pearl was setting down the breakfast on the table, the door to the temple opened to reveal the other two members of the household, Garnet and Amethyst. The fusion spoke first, then the small purple gem, but only when she noticed the food.
"Good morning Steven."
"Hey Garnet!" She let out a small chuckle at the boy's hyper mood, "You seem happy, got something planned?"
"Well I've got something nice planned with Connie later." A little smirk briefly crossed his face.
"Should I be intrigued?" Garnet said, a little too suggestively.
"Okay I know what that means but no future vision today, i want everything to be a surprise!"
"Okay if you say so cutie pie," ruffling his hair as she walked out to the beach.
"Garneeeetttt," he secretly loved the nickname though.
When Steven turned back to his plate, half of his breakfast was gone and only a slightly guilty looking Amethyst remained in the living room.
"What? It wasn't me!" Though she could hardly speak with all the food in her mouth. He just replied with a suspicious eyebrow raise and an "umhm" before finishing the last parts of his food and heading back upstairs to prepare for his fate with Connie.

Eventually, another four hours had passed, meaning his jam bud would be there any second. And just one cue, there was a knock at the door. Steven held the door open, bowing, "M'lady, what brings you on this fine day?"
"Oh nothing much my leash, just the most awesome date ever!"
"Oh you are not even ready!" They both laughed at their fancy role play, though Steven couldn't help thinking that he was the one not ready for what he was about to do.

Time skip brought to you by a lack of dating experience ~

It had been a few hours on the date now and the couple were sat on the beach, lay against a rock and against eachother. A comfortable silence spread over them, the only sound was the waves.
"Hey Connie?"
"Yeah Steven?" The boy began to flush at the cheeks a bit as he took out his phone and played the same song he did the first time they fused.
"Will you dance with me?" The girl giggled and grasped Steven's hand, her hair swooped behind her as she was pulled up from the ground.

As they danced, their foreheads touched and they locked eyes, embracing the moment and hoping it wouldn't ever end. Out of nowhere, Connie lost her footing and tripped, almost falling until Steven's strong hands caught her by the waist. It was still. And then a pink glow enveloped them, leaving only a tall person with a bush of mocha brown hair in their place.

"Woah, I'm here!" They could feel the bond that held them together, made from years of love both platonic and romantic.
"Um, Connie, well me I guess hehe" they paused to wait for a response for a moment before realising they were effectively talking to themself.
"Okay I'm just going to say this rally quick. I think we should do this forever, be this forever!"
In a flash of light, the pair unfused.
"Well?" Steven wore an innocent, sheepish grin.
"Yes!" She bolted over and jumped into Steven's arms, knocking him over onto the sand as they once again fused into Stevonnie.

The (now perma-) fusion's face lit up, thinking of what everyone would make of their decision. However, she knew that the happiest would be Garnet- she'd always loved seeing Stevonnie or even just Steven and Connie playing around together. After all, she was made up of two hopeless romantics. "I have to tell everyone!"

Thought I'd start this off with a bit of Connverse fluff because they're literally so cute! I'm definitely open to other ships though. Especially Steven x pink Steven like they are actually made for eachother lmao.

If you have any requests then put them in the comments! :)
