TW: angst, threats, panic attack

"George you genuinely fucking sucked at that!" Nick burst out laughing as the three entered the house.

Clay wheezed, "I'm sorry George but he's right, you got absolutely destroyed! You need to up your bowling game!"

George stuck his middle finger up at Clay and Nick, "I think I did pretty good," he said, sarcastically, knowing that he lost by over 100 points.

Clay and Nick had taken him bowling as an activity to keep everything off of his mind. George knew from the very start that he was awful at it, but he agreed because it would give him an hour or so to stop thinking about his step dad and give him some space to have fun with his best friends.

George strolled into the kitchen to fill up his empty water bottle, and Clay and Nick flopped onto the couch in the living room. George watched them laughing and wheezing as the water flowed into his plastic bottle, before he closed the lid and joined the two of them. He rested his head on Clay's shoulder and put his feet on Nick's lap, who immediately shoved them off.

It was around eight in the evening, and they had stopped at Taco Bell on their way home from the bowling alley for dinner. The house was dim and calm. For once, it wasn't raining outside, but the wind was strong and was crashing against the windows. Nick reached for the remote on the coffee table and turned the T.V on.

His eyes lit up suddenly, "OH MY GOD THERE'S A FOOTBALL GAME ON!" He exclaimed, quickly turning the channel over so that a football game was displayed on the television.

"No. Way. Turn this shit off now," George said, snatching the remote from his hands and loading up Netflix. "We're watching a movie."

Clay laughed and looked down at George's proud little face.

"Okay well if you won't let me watch football then we're watching anime," Nick retorted, slumping like a toddler.

This time Clay stepped in, "fuck no. If we're watching anime I'm leaving." He wheezed.

Nick rolled his eyes and slumped even further into the couch. George handed him the remote back and Nick begun to scroll through Netflix.

"You can choose what movie we watch, just not anime because Clay will genuinely leave. I tried making him watch one a week ago and he nearly threw my laptop across the room," George chuckled, snuggling up to his boyfriend.

Nick chose a movie, and the three watched as the title screen appeared. Before the first line of the movie was even said...

Ding.

George received a message. He paused the T.V and scooped up his phone. Clay read the message at the same time as George, towering above him.

Unknown number
George you have a choice. If you're not home by tomorrow, I will find you. You can make this easy on yourself, and just come home, or we can do this the hard way.   8:31pm

Clay snatched the phone from George's hand and begun to type a reply.

George freaked, "Clay what the fuck are you doing?!" He snatched the phone back, "are you fucking crazy?"

Nick watched the two of them before holding out his hand to George, wanting him to pass the phone.

"Don't reply," George handed the phone to Nick, who read the message over and over.

George's head fell into his hands and salty tears started to stream down his face. Clay felt bad, and held him close. He could feel the panic start to rise in George; his breathing, the warmth of his body, the sobbing. Clay couldn't do a single thing to fix this messy situation except comfort George.

He placed a hand on George's back, but the touch was quickly parted when George sprung to his feet and rushed to the bedroom, Clay heard the bathroom door slam shut. He quickly got up and tried to follow, but Nick grabbed his wrist to stop him.

"Give him some time, help me figure this shit out."

Clay was hesitant, but agreed. He sat close to Nick and they both stared at the message in utter fear, anger, panic, sadness...there were so many emotions.

Meanwhile, George was sitting on the bathroom floor against the bath tub. His whole body was shaking. The whole process that happened a couple of nights back was repeating itself. Although this time Clay wasn't there to help him. His breathing was rough, and his tears were turning into breathless sobs. His throat was dry, and cold sweats washed over him. His vision was blurry; the bathroom looked as though it was spinning in circles.

George remained like this for another fourty-five minutes. He knew he needed to get up, he was only going to get worse if he stayed sitting on the bathroom floor. He held onto the sink above him and heaved his weak body off of the floor. His legs were wobbly and unstable, and his dizziness only got worse when he stood. George wrapped his shaking fingers around the door handle and turned it, entering the bedroom.

He hoped that Clay would be waiting in bed for him, and George could climb into his arms and melt into his touch, but he wasn't. The bed was empty. He guessed that him and Nick were still in the living room, but George didn't have the energy to go back in there. He flopped onto the bed and his eyes immediately shut. He laid on top of the covers, frozen still. His eye lids twitched as his body tried to calm itself down.

I can't go back home. I can't. I just can't. But what do I do? Oh, what do I fucking do? Why is my life like this, I just want to be fucking happy and safe.

George passed out, leaving the questions unanswered in his mind.
