A knock on his door interrupted Yoongi from his thoughts and he glared at the new intern as the boy timidly peered inside.

"What?" Yoongi snapped.

"Uh, y-you have a visitor, sir." Jungkook squeaked.

"I don't want any visitors." Yoongi turned away from him and focused on his computer screen.

Jungkook nodded. "Yes sir. I'll tell him right away sir."

The door shut and Yoongi huffed his annoyance, clicking around on the computer.

Not even two minutes later, the door opened again.

"Uh, he's insisting to see you, sir." Jungkook said. "He says he has important evidence and that you should see it."

Yoongi didn't bother to ask who it was or what case they were from.

"They always say that, and it's never anything actually important or worth my time." Yoongi scoffed. "Tell him I'm busy and to come back later."

Jungkook nodded again and dipped out.

Yoongi forgot about the annoying interruptions as he focused on the screen, eyes narrowed in concentration.

Bang!

The door was kicked open and a boy stormed in.

Yoongi looked at the trespasser with a cold glare.

It was that male stripper from that disgusting strip club. Kim Na...Nam something.

The boy stormed over to Yoongi's desk and slapped a piece of paper in a plastic bag down, crossing his arms.

"I could handcuff you right now for barging in like that." Yoongi said coolly. "But I should be lenient for someone as stupid as you."

"I could get out of those handcuffs in seven seconds." Namjoon raised an eyebrow. "And I'm not stupid, I'm halfway through getting a bachelors degree at Marvelle."

Yoongi laughed, not believing it. "Sure, pretty boy. Sure."

Namjoon ignored the detectives obvious negative opinion on his profession and pointed to the note.

"That was left on one of my coworkers front door. It's a warning message from whoever killed James."

Yoongi took his time setting his things aside to grab the paper, reading it with bored expression.

"She needs protection. The killer is going to go after her next!" Namjoon insisted. "You have to do something to help her!"

Yoongi ignored him, eyes scanning the note.

Don't come to work today. James had it coming, but not you. Stay home, or else.

Yoongi sighed, tossing the note aside. "She's fine. The killer warned her because he doesn't want to kill her. Whoever killed James already has his sights set on who he wants to go after next, and it's not whatever whore this was addressed to."

Namjoon bristled. "Serena isn't a whore! And you need to protect her! This note means she's a target- just fucking look at it! It's clearly a threat!"

Yoongi shook his head. "I'm far too busy to waste my time hanging out with someone carrying every STD in the book."

Namjoon glanced at the detectives screen. "You're playing Solitaire. And losing."

Yoongi pointed to the door. "Get out of my office, kid. Go study for your totally real degree, mkay? Leave the important work to the adults."

Namjoon forced a laugh. "You're seriously unbelievable. You have all the wrong ideas about strippers. We aren't prostitutes, you know. You act like that killer is more of a human being than me and my coworkers."

Yoongi said nothing, still pointing to the door.

Namjoon shook his head. "Fucking vacuous. Absolutely puerile. Seriously asinine."

He slammed the door shut behind him and Yoongi turned back to his game, pausing it to research a translation for what the stripper boy said.

-

"Yoongi, we got another one."

Yoongi sighed, looking at his new game that had just started. "Can't Jungkook take it?"

"Jeon is an intern. You're the detective. Come on, Pineview apartments. Killed the same way as James." The Chang-woo said and hung up before Yoongi could argue.

Grumbling the whole way, Yoongi drove to the scene.

He parked the car and climbed out, seeing the crime scene bustling with officers and onlookers.

He walked over and lifted up the yellow crime scene tape, ducking under it as he spied the inspector and headed over.

"Stabbed in the stomach, same as James." Chang-woo said. "Any leads yet?"

"After one victim? Of course not." Yoongi knelt down and studied the woman's body.

The gash through her lower abdomen was wide and deep, slicing through her glittery top. Blood had raced down her skin and pooled around her on the sidewalk.

"Her name was Serena McPhailan, she worked at Kkoim. Her son is still at school, we'll notify-"

But his words faded to the background in Yoongi's conscious.

Serena.

That stripper boys coworker.

The one who had come in with that note.

That warning.

Yoongi stood up, cutting his supervisor off.

"I have a lead now." Was all he said, before walking abruptly away from the scene.

"What- Yoongi!"

But Yoongi didn't listen, ducking back into his car.

He started the engine and headed back to his office.

Maybe that stripper boy was a little smarter than Yoongi was giving him credit for.

Yoongi smirked as he drove, settling back in his leather seat as he drove with one hand on the wheel.

"You can get out of handcuffs in seven seconds, Kim?" He laughed. "Let's see you get out of jail after I convict you."
