1- Nick Nelson is a normal guy

"See you tomorrow then?" Charlie asked, Nick gave a smile, pressing a kiss to Charlie's lips.
"Tomorrow"

Charlie rolled his eyes, smile still on his face.

"Alright, this isn't a movie now, just say bye like a normal person"
"Farewell my liege," he took a bow.
"Nick"
"Au revoir mon amour," he grabbed Charlie's hand, kissing the back of it softly.
"Ugh, I hate you," Charlie pushed him away, blushing.
"Well that's the biggest lie I've ever heard, I'll see you tomorrow Char, Nellie's waiting for me and all"

Nick finally stepped out the house to leave, he barely got a few feet away from the door before he came running back in, picking up Charlie and spinning him around.

"Nick! What are you doing- put me down!" He giggled.

Nick set him down, holding both of his hands in his own, looking at him like he'd handcrafted each individual star in the sky.

"What are you doing back inside? I thought you were going to leave for real this time"
"You thought I'd just leave you without one final goodbye kiss? How would you even be able to sleep at night without it?" He pressed their foreheads together.
"Oh you're right, I'd be tossing and turning all night, thank you for saving me Nicholas"
"Of course, but that's going to be a no on the government name"
"Government name?" Charlie laughed.
"Uh, yeah, stick to Nick unless you're like really mad at me or something-"

"You guys take forever to say goodbye," Tori said flatly, sipping her drink, causing the two to jump apart.
"Wh- how long have you been there for?!" Charlie asked.
"However long it took him to say bye the first time and then run back in, just kiss and go home already," she folded her arms.
"Right- yeah, sorry, I'll see you tomorrow Charlie, I'll text you when I get home, okay?"
"Okay," they shared a kiss, then Nick was out the door.

"He is such a sap"
"Shut up Tori!"

"You have fun at Charlie's?"
"Yeah, I'm going over tomorrow too, is that okay?" Nick asked on his way up the stairs.
"Well yes but, Nicky, where's my goodnight hug?"
"Oh- sorry Mum, guess I was a bit too set on texting Charlie that I made it home safe"

Nick ran down the stairs, pulling his Mother into a hug.

"You really love that boy don't you?"

Love, that was quite a big word.

"Yeah. I do." Nick smiled.
"Well goodnight then, I've got work in the morning, don't stay up too late texting him now, I love you," she kissed his forehead.
"I love you too Mum, goodnight"

He gave her one final hug, running up the stairs with his phone in his hand.

When Nick entered his room he saw that there was a small box sitting on his bed, as he approached it he noticed that there was a note on top of it, it read:

'For Nick Nelson
(Earth-090407)'

"What's that supposed to mean?" He mumbled to himself, tossing it aside and opening the box.

Inside sat a watch, unlike any he'd seen before, he slipped it on without another thought.

A hologram appeared, a hologram of..Tori?

"Hello-"

"What the f-" Nick stumbled back, falling to the floor, causing Nellie to start barking.

"Shhh, Nellie- you'll wake up Mum, I'm okay," he went to take off the watch, but it felt like something had just pricked him.
"Ow! What the hell is this thing?"

"A watch, you idiot"

It answered him. He really needed to get some sleep.

"Oh god. Something's wrong with me, this can't be real," he rubbed his eyes, trying to blink the hologram away.
"As real as it gets I'm afraid"
"How are you even doing that? Is this some sort of elaborate prank?" He passed his hand through the hologram.
"Uh, no, although I kind of wish it was. This watch isn't just any old watch, if you couldn't already tell by its appearance and the hologram, this watch has a purpose, a really important one at that, are you willing to listen?"

Nellie let out a whine, sad that she wasn't able to receive any pets from Tori..because she was a hologram.

"I would give you a proper answer, but I'm assuming I don't have much of a choice now do I?"
"No, sorry. I guess I'll just get started then, no questions until after I'm done, alright?"
"Alright..?" He laid back on his bed, trying to accept whatever this was.

"This watch grants you the ability to move through different universes, why is this important? It's important because if you don't, we all die. I see that's shocked you, that soon then? Wow, okay, well let me go more into detail about it- so apparently you and Charlie hold some sort of significance, not just to each other..but the multiverse, you two being together is so important that if you aren't, everything will fall apart. You now possess this watch because in different universes your relationship with Charlie is at risk of falling off, never to picked back up again, you have to go to each one of those universes to fix things or..no more of anything, no more Charlie. Now, questions?"
"There..there are more Charlie's?"
"And you's, yeah"
"But..why am I the one who has to do it? Why can't it be another Nick?"
"Because you're the only stable Nick that hasn't told Charlie you love him yet"
"All those universes and I'm really the only one?"
"Yeah, you're pretty slow at things, you should hurry up with that, I'm sure he's dying to hear it, if not say it himself"
"I-..I just haven't found the right moment yet"
"Mhm, sure, well do you have any actual questions? Like about your mission?"
"When do I have to start? And do I have to do it all at once? How many universes do I need to fix? Can I sleep before I go?"
"Right now would be ideal. And there aren't that many, but yeah, you will have to do them all in a row- also, your body will sleep while you're away so you won't have to worry about that"
"What do you mean it'll sleep when I'm away..?"
"Oh..forgot to tell you that when you move between universes that you'll be in the body of that universes' Nick"

"..."
"That freaked you out huh?"
"Uhm- no."
"You're really bad at lying"
"Can we just pretend that I'm really understanding and chill about this right now? Because if not, I think I'll lose it."
"Sure, I'll just go into what all these buttons and stuff are for then. The blue button is to go to the next universe, the yellow one is to return back to your own, and the red one is for help, if you're ever stuck on what to do or anything like that, press it and we'll help you, that simple really"
"Okay, and the screen..?"
"The screen will show which universe you're in, how far you are from reaching your goal, and it'll turn green when you're no longer needed in that universe..and this is rare, but if it ever turns red, it'll mean you've failed to reach your goal"
"And..what does that mean for all the other universes? Will all that work have been for nothing?"
"I..I don't know actually, let's hope to never find out. I'm trusting you with this, I mean I don't have any other choice, but I think you've got this, or at least I'm hoping you do"
"How will I know what to do?"
"You'll be sort of combined with that Nick, so you'll have access to his memories, but they'll come in a bit slowly, he may be holding back a few things, so you'll have to try and jog your memory with things that remind you of those memories..anymore questions before I go then?"
"Will I be able to make it back in time to see Charlie tomorrow?"
"Yeah, no time will have passed, you'll be alright. That it then?"
"Yeah, I think so"
"Okay..well good luck then, the multiverse is counting on you, don't mess this up. Bye."

And she was gone.

"Fuck, I should've asked why this thing pricked me.."
