So he felt a little stiff and heavy, that was new, what universe could he possibly-Holy shit.
"I'm a fucking knight!" He jumped up and down excitedly, making quite the racket with his armor.
He heard someone laugh behind him, it wasn't just any old laugh, he had each laugh from this person memorized like his life depended on it.
"You're barely figuring that out?" That smile, those eyes.
"Charlie! Hi"Charlie stepped closer, holding Nick's face in his hands.
"Oh you're adorable Nicholas," Charlie kissed him softly.
"I am?" He squeaked out.
"Have you seen yourself?"
"Well, I guess I don't look at myself like that, I just..you know, I just see me"
"There's more to it then just seeing your reflection Nicholas"What..?
"Alright, come along now, we've got a bit of training to do before our big venture tomorrow"
~
"Go for it, I'll block," Charlie held up his sword confidently.
"But what if I-"
"Oh don't be a wimp, I can handle myself just fine, try me"As Nick was about to thrust his sword at him, someone very rudely burst through the door.
"There you are- what did I say about you picking up swords Charles? You always have the worst ideas, you're a prince, a prince doesn't fight."
"What am I supposed to do when I'm in danger Mum? Beg for my life? Oh no please don't stab me, what's that going to do? And I'm well good at it, I can't always rely on Nick to save me," he flipped his sword in the air, catching it perfectly.
"No, nope, none of that, hand it over or you will not be making that little trip with Nicholas tomorrow," she held out her hand, Charlie rolled his eyes.
"Whatever, we're done here anyways, Nick?" Nick sheathed his sword, moving to stand beside Charlie.
"Must he go everywhere with you?"
"Oh yes Mum, I need him to make sure I don't fall and die on the way to my room," he gave her a sarcastic smile, throwing his sword so it stuck in the ceiling.
"Charles Frances Spring, how hard is it to follow orders!"
"Oops, muscle spasm, sorry Mum"
"How am I suppose to get that down?!"
"It should come down on its own..eventually"
"What! No don't go-"
"Bye Mum, love you!"
"CHARLIE!"Charlie ran away, Nick following closely behind, both laughing like madmen.
"You're an absolute menace"
"She swears like taking away one of my swords is going to stop me, like I don't have more in my room"
"You're so incredibly cool.."
"Doesn't take much to impress you huh? I mention my sword collection and he's over the moon," Charlie teases, Nick decides to stick with it.
"You could collect dust and I'd be impressed, I am enamored by you," This makes Charlie blush.
"Oh stop it you, you're so cheesy," he shoved him playfully.
"And you love it"
"Unfortunately, I do. Come on, I'll show you my sword and dagger collection," he pulled Nick along.-
As Nick got ready for his trip with Charlie, he couldn't help but stop for a moment to have a look at himself in the mirror, it was the first time he had time to. He ran his hands over his chest, no burdens to be seen, no binder that he'd have to pull at every now and then just to get some decent breaths in, just chest hair, he couldn't stop the tears.
"Shit." His heart ached, wishing he could have this in his universe, wishing he hadn't gone through what he had, because it wasn't just him they'd hurt, it was Charlie too.
There was a knock at his door, pulling him from his thoughts.
"Nick? You almost ready?"
Oh god. He couldn't let Charlie see him like this, he'd see the tears, his puffy eyes and reddened nose, he'd worry and ask questions. How was he supposed to explain to him that he was crying because he didn't have tits in this universe? And that it was the best feeling ever.
