That same day, there was a certain biker gang sitting in a cafe.

One of the member's of the Crazy Diamonds biker gang wanted their younger brother to join. So, as the leader, it was Mondo's job to show them the basics.

Mondo's POV

This can't be all that difficult can it? Just remember the stuff Daiya introduced me to.

This kid is the first new member since Daiya retired. I can't fuck this up.

Me, Takemichi, the new kid and a couple more gang members were sitting at a table in the Hanamura diner. 'Michi and I decided to talk to the new kid at a separate table privately.

"Oi, newbie, what's your name?"

The kid looked nervous and seemed to hesitate.  "K-Koise! But I-I go by Koi."

I leaned on my hand. "No need to be so jumpy, nobody's hurtin' ya'."

Koi was shaking his head. "Sorry!"

Was I this tense when I joined? Damn, how'd Daiya deal with that so well...

"You don't need to apologize, kid." Takemichi spoke up this time.

"My bad. I just get nervous when JJ's not around.

"Speaking of him," I wondered, "Where is he?"

Koi took a sip from his soda and shrugged. "He said he had to take care of business or something."

"So we're babysittin', basically." I joked. Takemichi roughly tapped my shoulder.

"Don't be a bitch, Owada."

"Yeah, yeah, my bad."

Koi was quiet for a couple seconds again before asking, "What's this gang like? JJ talk's about it a lot."

"Good things, I'm hoping?"

"Good things!" Koi confirmed.

"First off, don't be surprised if you get in a fight." I told him. "Although, if it's a fight you know you can't win, don't be worried about coming to find us."

He played with the straw of the drink nervously. "Do I have to get in fights?"

"How old are ya'?"

"14."

"Then no. But at least learn to defend yourself ."

"I'd be fine teaching you if needed." Takemichi added.

He quickly nodded. "Okay! JJ teaches me sometimes."

One of the waiters walked by and put down a plate of fries, to which Koi immediately ate up.

"You like fries, huh?"

"Sorry!" He pushed the plate away from himself. "They're my favorite food."

I leaned back into the chair. "Hey, don't be sorry. Eat up."
