chapter five • caught pt1

Kiyotaka's POV

Uniform? Check.
Car keys? Check.
About to go and apparently arrest some delinquent at my school who trains Chihiro and if he gets locked up Chihiro could possibly hate me forever and I'll lose a friend again?

...

Check.

I mean, maybe it won't be so bad. If Owada does illegal stuff like this then Fujisaki shouldn't need to train with him. So maybe I'm protecting them.

Wait, what did Owada do?

Right, a fight. While it's not necessarily illegal, there's no reason towards it, is there? Violence is simply unnecessary.

No need to focus on that. I stepped outside to meet up with the other officers.

"Ishimaru, I'm Officer Yoshida. You'll be taking that car." He directed me to a white-and-blue cop car.

"Since you're not fully trained, you won't catch the Diamonds or Owada head on. We just need you to pick them up and drive them back here, okay?

I nodded. "Understood!"

"Make sure to keep up. Officer Ishimaru told us you do know how to drive, correct?"

"Yes, he taught me himself."

"Nice. I trust you, then. The leader of Crazy Diamonds, Owada," Yoshida seemed to scoff disgustedly at the name, "is quite the problem. But feel free to let me handle him if it becomes too much."

"Thank you for the offer, Officer Yoshida. But Owada is a classmate of mine, I'd prefer to handle him on my own."

Yoshida rolled his eyes. "Sure, whatever floats your boat I guess." He walked off into his own car, allowing me to get to mine.

I put my hands on the wheel and prepared to follow them out the driveway to catch the Crazy Diamonds.

A couple of minutes earlier, still Chihiro's POV

"Taka?"

"Yes Fujisaki?" He responded while adjusting the jacket of the new uniform.

"I said Chihiro's alright to call me. But umm...I have a question."

Kiyotaka looked up at me. "What is it?"

I took a deep breath and held my hands close together. "When you find Mondo, just...please try to make sure he's okay?"

He tilted his head to me. "What do you mean 'okay'?"

"I mean, the people here...from what I've noticed from my time volunteering, they don't-well-they have a bias towards the Crazy Diamonds. Or well, Mondo himself."

"They do?"

"Yes. From what he explained to me, they do anything they can to paint him or his brother in a bad image. They hardly listen to his side of the story. That's why he gets in trouble so much."
