Wife number Four

Chapter 20

All hell broke loose.
"What about us?"
"Who will take care of us?"
"Why Mama?"
Questions were thrown left and right. Eleanor was just frozen. Why her? Why now of all times? Did he do this out of spite because of the answer she gave him this morning?
"Settle down now!" Karlheinz said sternly
The boys were resilient but knew better than to talk back to their father.
"Eleanor is just going stay with them for a year" Karlheinz said
Eleanor gasped and looked at Karlheinz in disbelief. A year? A year without her sons. They need her. She can't leave her children like this, no she refuses.

Eleanor slammed her hands on the table and got up. She stared at Karlheinz dead in the eyes and said, "No. As much as I love children I will not leave MY sons behind"
"Your sons?" Cordelia and Beatrix said at the same time
"Yes cause last time I checked none of you give a damn about your children only your own gain" Eleanor said with venom laced in her voice
"Everyone leave except Karl" Eleanor said not giving Beatrix or Cordelia a chance to give a remark, "Boys stay in my bedroom I'll up in a minute"
Everyone left the dining room leaving Karlheinz and Eleanor alone. The tension in the room could be cut through with a knife.
"Why now of all times?" Eleanor asked
"I know that this is bad timing, but I need someone to look after these boys and you are the only person I trust" Karlheinz said coming closer to Eleanor until they were face to face.
"I'm flattered but I simply can't what about the boys?! They need me" Eleanor said her voice was strained
"Eleanor is only for a year" Karlheinz said
"Only a year! Do you know how precious  a year is to me??!! A year that my sons are without me" Eleanor yelled
"You will get to visit them every month" Karlheinz said
"Karl please! Please I am begging you to reconsider. I'll bear your child just please reconsider" Eleanor said desperately gripping onto Karlheinz jacket with tears streaming down her eyes.
Karlheinz layed his hand on her cheek and wiped her tears and said, "I will not consummate with you without your full consent. I will not force you to do something that is against your will and I will never take advantage of you like that."
"Please Karl please I can't leave them alone" Eleanor said falling to the ground in full on tears
Karlheinz hugged her lightly and said, "I do not wish for you to be separated from the boys but I cannot hand the 4 boys off to people I do not know and trust. Cordelia, Beatrix, and Christa are not capable of taking care of 4 children and I need to travel the world for business and more experiments"
"Why don't you just set them free?" Eleanor asked
"I changed them into vampires because they were on the brink of death so keeping them in a orphanage is out of question" Karlheinz replied
"When do I leave?" Eleanor asked
"In a week, A limo will take you there" Karlheinz replied
"Okay. I accept" Eleanor said
"Thank you Norry" Karlheinz said gratefully 
Eleanor shook her head and left the room. She headed upstairs into her room and saw all the boys looking like a mess.

Kanato was crying holding his teddy tightly, Laito was pacing around the room, Ayato was pacing, Subaru was punching my pillow, and Shu and Reiji were suffering in silence. Eleanor crouched down and opened her arms wide for her children. Kanato was the first one to run into her arms, and her other children followed.

Eleanor rubbed their heads and tried to comfort them without breaking down.
"I'm going to visit you all every month I promise" Eleanor said
"That's not enough" Kanato cried
"I know, I know" Eleanor said, "I'm leaving in a week, so let's make the most of this week"
"Okay Mama" The boys said
"Before we start our activities I need to do something really quick while I do what I need to do can I count on you all to set up a picnic in the garden next to the flowers Subaru grew?" Eleanor asked, "I already made our food yesterday, there in the fridge"
"Okay!" The boys said before running off.

Eleanor went outside into the forest where she met Shin and Carla. Of course she didn't expect them to be there so she made a butterfly out of fire and sent it to find Shin and Carla. After  a couple minutes there were footsteps coming closer to her. Shin appeared out of the bushes in his wolf form and Carla teleported right next to him.
"I see you got better Shin" Eleanor said crouching down to let his strawberry blonde fur, "Oh hello to you Carla"
"Hello Eleanor what did you call us here for?" Carla asked
"I know that I haven't seen you in a while and I deeply apologize" Eleanor said sincerely
"That is okay we have been rather busy as well so you would have been a distraction" Carla said bluntly
Shin hit his head on Carla's leg and glared at him while Carla glared back.
Eleanor chuckled and said, "Then I'm glad I was not a distraction, But I did not only come here to apologize, but I came to say that Karl is sending me away for a year. Although I did not know you both for very long is still hurts to be away from you two."

Shin whimpered and licked Eleanor's cheek.
"I am visiting the mansion every month for 1 day so I will be able to you both within that time period." Eleanor said petting Shin's head gently
Carla tsk and said, "Why should we care? It's not like we grew attached to you especially in just one day"

Shin growled at Carla, but Eleanor chuckled and started to laugh softly to not cause a ruckus.
"You really are amazing Carla" Eleanor said as she got up and suddenly hugged Carla leaving him shocked and speechless.

Carla was surprised because he can't remember the last time he has been embraced. Her arms felt like he was being hugged by the sun. He felt warm and his heart raced incredibly. He couldn't put his hand around what he felt but all he knows is that this feelings felt the like the best thing in the world.

Eleanor pulled and ruffled his hair and said, "I have to go now but meet me here in 2 days at dawn"
With that Eleanor took off her white hair flowing as she ran gracefully. Once Eleanor was out of the forest she walked to the garden to see Ayato and Laito playing with a toy plane, Shu was playing with his puppy, Kanato was eating the sweets, Reiji was reading and book, and Subaru was playing with the flowers. Eleanor's heart bloomed at the start and made her self present.
"Mama!" Kanato yelled excitedly as he ran and hugged her leg. Eleanor smiled and picked Kanato up and sat on the picnic blanket next to Reiji. Reiji look over at Eleanor and rested his head against her arm.
"Mama look the puppy is growing!" Shu said
Eleanor smiled and said,"Yes he is growing big soon enough he will be as big as a you"
Eleanor chuckled as Shu giggled but then she was curious about something and asked, "Where did you get this puppy Shu?"
"Edgar gave it to me" Shu said
"He must be a good friend" Eleanor said
"Yeah he is amazing" Shu added
Eleanor then felt someone tug her kimono. She looked over it her left and saw Subaru staring up and at her with a bunch of flowers in his hand.
"Mama can we make flowers crowns?" Subaru asked
"Of course sweetie" Eleanor replied as she put Kanato between her legs as she positioned her legs to look like a butterfly.

Subaru and Eleanor started to make the flower crowns out of the beautiful white flowers. In total Eleanor made 6 and Subaru made 1. Subaru put the one he made on top of Eleanor's head and smiled. Eleanor's heart skipped a beat and thanked Subaru.

Eleanor called over all the boys and put a flower crown on there heads. They blushed and stuttered over there words. Eleanor gigglee at there reactions and said, "Its Time for lunch let's the eat"
All the boys ate there food like they haven't ate in days which made Eleanor sweatdrop. After they ate Eleanor and the boys cuddled up and looked as the sun set which ended there day.

Eleanor wanted to stay this moment forever but knew that could never happen. Soon her time is going to come where she has to leave the earth. But she will make the most of this time and make sure that her sons are happy no matter what.
