Chapter 34

"Kids!!!!" Eleanor yelled 
"Miss Eleanor the sun barely rose, what is it you need?" Ruki asked rubbing his eyes tiredly walking down the stairs 
"I got us tickets to the fair today and it starts at 6." Eleanor answered excitedly 
"The fair? That's for little kids." Ruki said 
"Um Ruki idk if you remember but you're a kid and you're not even 13 yet." Eleanor pointed out 
"T-that's not the point." Ruki stuttered, "The point is that humans go to fairs, vampires stay at home." 
"Who said that?" 
"I did we are not going-" 
"We are totally going!" Kou yelled covering Ruki's mouth with his palm 
"Yeah Ruki, we have never been to a fair." Yuma added, "Besides, Azusa always wanted to go to one." 
"Like I said No!" Ruki ordered 
"Please Ruki..." Azusa pleaded with puppy eyes 
"Yeah Ruki please..." Eleanor joined 
Puppy eyes were always Ruki's weaknesses whether he liked to admit it or not. He also didn't like seeing his youngest brother sad.  
Ruki sighed and gave in, "Fine..." 

"Wow! This is so cool, come on Yuma, let's go on that really big ride!" Kou said  
"How about we stay on the ground?" Yuma hastily said 
"What are you scared of?" Kou teased 
"W-what n-no" Yuma stuttered 
"What about you Azusa wanna go on the ride with me?" Kou asked
"Sure..." Azusa agreed 
"What about you Miss Eleanor?" Kou asked 
"U-um I have a better idea how about you and Azusa go on the rides and Yuma, Ruki, and me do the on ground rides and then in about an hour we meet up right here?" Eleanor offered 
"Okay come on Azusa!" Kou said excitedly dragging Azusa 
"Hehe I am so glad that I am not Azusa." Elenaor said, relieved, "Come on, let's play some games!" 
"Which one should we do first?" Ruki questioned 
"Let's do that one." Yuma offered pointing at on of the stands where children are throwing darts at balloons 
"Oh my favorite is the balloon dart game!" Eleanor said, "We would like 3 darts for each of us please."
"That would be 5 iron pieces ma'am." The concession man said 
"What a good price!" Eleanor boosted 
"Hold on, the people before us only paid 5 copper pieces for the 3 darts each person and there were 5 of them." Ruki pointed out 
"Hehe, well aren't you a bright one?" The man pointed out, "I'm pretty old so my mind is pretty haywire, the price is 3 copper pieces." 
"Do not worry, it's totally fine!" Eleanor replied 
Yuma and Ruki sighed at her stupidity. 
"Come on let's see who can get all of-" 
Before Eleanor could finish Yuma and Ruki already scored by hitting 3 balloons. 
"Them.." 
"That was pretty easy." Ruki stated 
"Yeah, can we do harder ones?" Yuma asked 
"W-Wow that's some skill you guys have there, we can move on to a different one when I hit 3 balloons." Eleanor said 
"Make it quick." Ruki ordered 

They were right that the game really was easy, Eleanor thought. 
"I can't believe you chose a panda!" Yuma exclaimed 
"Panda's are useless to society just like that game, I say that it is a quite fitting prize." Ruki informed 
"T-thats so idiotic and stupid you could have picked something cool like me." Yuma said 
"A dragon? How pathetic and unreal." Ruki scoffed 
"Were unreal your point is?" 
"It's just a stuffed animal. Why are you so mad about my choice?"
"I'm not mad we agreed that we would give miss Eleanor our gi-" 
Before yuma could finish his sentence Ruki stuffed his panda in his mouth. 
"Say another word and you're dead." Ruki sneered 
Yuma shivered while Eleanor looked back and forth between the two of them confused as to what was said before.
"Can we do that game?" Ruki asked pointing at the one of the water gun games
"Oh yeah! That one seems fun!" Eleanor said excitedly, "Which animal do you guys plan on getting this time?" 
"The penguin" They both answered 
"I was thinking the same thing, it's one of my favorite animals!" Eleanor inferred 
"Yeah we know..." They both mumbled under their breaths
"Come on, let's play!" 

The trio played every fair game there was until it was time to meet back up with Kou and Azusa. 
"Woah! Miss Eleanor, that's so many stuffed animals!" Kou examined amazed by the piles of stuff animals the trio carried 
"We got a little carried away with the games.." Eleanor sheepishly said, "Did you guys enjoy the rides?"
"Yeah they were so fun!!" Kou exclaimed 
"Yeah they were alright" Azusa said 
"Let's get some things to eat, I don't think that I showed you guys what cotton candy was yet." Eleanor said, "You guys can sit over there while I go get us some cotton candy, popcorn and water so that we can see fireworks."
"Hello ma'am what would you like?" The man asked 
"5 cotton candies, 5 bags of buttered popcorn and 5 waters please." Eleanor replied 
"Alright com'in right up." The man said 
"That's an awful lot of things." 
Eleanor jumped and turned around to see a man about her age, maybe even a little older.
"Oh you scared me and they're not for me alone, I have 4 kids that I am taking care of." Eleanor said 
"You must be hardworking, it's not easy to take care of 4 children." The man complimented 
Eleanor chuckled and said, "Honestly it's not that hard especially when I adore the kids." 
"That's a plus, I had a kid once she was my heart and soul so I guess we can relate."
"You said once, is she....?" 
"Oh heavens no, we just do not talk alot. When kids grow up they tend to distance themselves." 
"Yeah I get what you mean, but I'll enjoy what I have now." Eleanor said, "Oh and-" 
"Here's your popcorn and cola sir" 
"Oh that's me, sorry I guess I will see you later El." The man said
"Bye!" Eleanor waved, "What a nice old man" 
He was nice wait did he call me El?, Eleanor thought
Eleanor gasped and told the concession man running off, "I'll be back in a minute!" 
The only man who called me that was the man in my memory, Eleanor thought. Of course why had she not noticed. They looked similar, just older. 
"Please wait!" Eleanor yelled trying to keep track of the silver haired man 
Before she could grab on his coat he disappeared. Eleanor huffed and tried to absorb what she saw. That man was no doubt the man in her dreams, but why show up out of all times?

Eleanor caught her breath and headed back to grab the food she left. I wonder what he wanted, Eleanor thought. 
"Finally your back" Ruki said 
"Sorry we ordered a lot so it took a while.." Eleanor said, "Let's go before we miss the fireworks." 
"Race yah!" Kiu yelled running off
"You cheaters!" 
They all finally reached and spreaded the blanket they brought on the grass. So many families were there, they were lucky enough to find a space big enough for them. 
"Wow, this cotton candy tastes amazing!" Yuma said, astonished by the taste, "I wish there was blood that could taste this good." 
"You would get tired of it." Azusa said
"Says who?" Kou sassed 
"Says science now we should stop talking about blood or else we will get hungry and attack the humans around us." Ruki ordered 
"Blah blah blah" Kou mocked 
Eleanor watched as argued back and forth but didn't pay any mind to it. She was still too attached as to what the man wanted. How did she not notice his silver hair should have been the first red flag. Wait, did he have silver hair? Back when they were talking she could have sworn that he has brown hair. What is going on? 
"Mama, look , the show is starting." Azusa said 
The children stared astonished by the pretty lights in the sky. The fireworks basically made their eyes shine with amazement. Eleanor couldn't help but smile and think back to those words from earlier. 
"When kids grow up they tend to distance themselves." 
Yeah well not my kids, Eleanor thought. Whatever he wanted she didn't care as long as she didn't see him ever again.
