Wife number Four

Chapter 23

"Eleanor?" 
"Eleanor?" 
"ELEANOR!" 
Eleanor shot awake and cradled her head as if she had just got hit with a brick. 
"Are you okay?!" Karlheinz asked worriedly 
Eleanor looked around at her surroundings and saw her sons, Beatrix, Cordelia, Christa, and Karlheinz. Why are they crowding her? And why does her head hurt so badly?
"What happened?" Eleanor asked rubbing her forehead 
"That's what I would like to know. You just suddenly started to stare into space and then  passed out." Karlheinz answered before rubbing her forehead gently, "Are you okay? Do you need some medicine?"
"No I think I'm fine." Eleanor answered and then felt some weight on her lap. She looked down and saw Kanato. 
"Are you sure that you do not need medicine Mama?" Kanato asked 
"I'm okay I swear." Eleanor answered gently patting his head
"You shouldn't stress yourself today." Shu said warily 
"It's not like she can since dad is leaving, without him she should be stress free." Ayato said blatantly 
Karlheinz was about to say something when Eleanor giggled softly and then started to laugh. 
"Sorry, I just couldn't help myself." Eleanor said wiping stray tears from her eyes

Karlheinz looked at Eleanor and then started to chuckle as well. He wiped a strand of grey hair from her face and stared at her softly. Wait grey hair? 
Karlheinz took the strand into his hand and examined it closely. No doubt it was grey. 
"What is this?" Karlheinz asked 
"Hm?" Eleanor looked at what Karlheinz was holding and saw that a strand of her hair turned grey. Well isn't that particular. 
"Is it just me or is a strand of my hair grey?" Eleanor asked wondering if she was going crazy 
"No, I see it too." Reiji said 
"Mama didn't you have white hair?" Kanato asked
"Yes I have natural white hair." Eleanor said confused 
"Do you mind if I cut it?" Karlheinz asked 
Eleanor looked at him as if he had 2 heads and said, "Are you crazy?!? There is no way you are cutting me precious hair."
"Eleanor it is just hair." Karlheinz said exasperated 
"How about you cut your hair, it's already down to your knees that the ponytail isn't really covering it's length." Eleanor said trying to protect her hair 
Karlheinz scoffed and said, "Oh hush Mrs. Pancake." 
"DID YOU JUST MAKE FUN OF MY BOOBS?!" Eleanor asked, offended, "AT LEAST I HAVE BOOBS UNLIKE YOU!"
"Oh-" Karlheinz was cut off by a tired and angry Beatrix, "Can we go? I have no patience for this." 
Karlheimz sighed and said, "Yes you all may go." 
Everyone left except for Karlheinz. 
"Eleanor do you remember anything?" Karlheinz asked 
"Not it's all so blurry, almost like a dream." Eleanor said 
"It's fine, I'll try to make some concoction to help jog back your memory." Karlheinz kissing her forehead and rubbing her hands gently 
Eleanor gasped and said, "You're supposed to leave today? Why didn't you?" 
"I feel so appreciated that my wife wants me gone so badly." Karlheinz said sarcastically 
"You know what I mean." Eleanor deadpanned, "Did you reschedule?" 
"Yes I will be leaving tomorrow instead." Karlheinz answered 
"That's not much of a difference, but it's something" Eleanor said staring sadly at her hands
"I would have thought that you would want me gone with every chance you get" Karlheinz said chuckled
"Yeah I thought so too but every time you come, we just get closer and closer" Eleanor said resting her head on Karlheinz chest

Karlheinz was surprised but then smiled and ran his fingers through her hair and then remembered something.
"Eleanor, do you know someone named Cecilia?" Karlheinz asked 
"Cecilia? No why?" Eleanor asked confused
"You said that before you passed out." Karlheinz said 
"No I can't seem to recall anyone named Cecilia" Eleanor said
"It's fine do not stress yourself over it" Karlheinz said, "But promise me that when you remember you will come to me" 
"I promise"
