Wife number Four

Chapter 39

It's currently December 31st, 1854 January is coming soon. The month she is going to die. 
"Eleanor, you have to stay in bed now! We can't get hurt." Carla said placing his hand in her back
"I'm fine really! I just wanted to see you guys before I give birth in a couple days." Eleanor said nonchalantly holding on to her baby bump
"You can see us after you give birth now Shin carries her home before anyone sees her out here." Carla ordered, "Wait did you say that you're giving birth in a couple days?!?!" 
"Karl predicted that I would give birth in a couple days with vampire senses." Eleanor explained
"Then you really need to go to bed! Are you crazy?" Carla exclaimed 
"Oh come on! This is very memorable." Eleanor said 
"I'd rather you not see us forever before letting you and this baby get hurt." Carla exclaimed, "Now Shin takes her back." 
"Yes brother..." Shin said 
"You guys are deplorable and insufferable." Eleanor said 
"Yes we are." Carla agreed 

Eleanor was suddenly whisked off her feet by Shin and teleported back to her room. He gently placed her on her bed and was about to leave until he heard a groan. He looked behind him to see Eleanor holding her stomach and groaning in pain. 
"Are you okay?" Shin asked worriedly leaning her back against her arm
"I'm fine, don't worry, the baby is just kicking me, that's all." Eleanor groaned breathing in and out
"Hey, stop hurting her!" Shin yelled 
Eleanor giggled and said, "I'm okay and I don't think that yelling at it would do it any good." 
"It was worth a try..." Shin grumbled 
"Do you want to feel?" Eleanor asked 
Shin thought it over for a couple seconds before placing his palm over her stomach. He could hear the baby's heartbeat and groans. It was beautiful. He had never experienced anything like this. He felt her kick a few times until he heard the mansion's door open. 
"I've gotta go." Shin sighed, "Make sure you stay in bed and take care of yourself."
"I will." Eleanor promised 
Shin smiled at her one last time before he teleported away.

Karlheinz came into the bedroom and hung up his coat before asking, "How was your day?" 
"It was fine, although it is boring to just sit in bed all day with no company." Eleanor said 
"I know but with Misaki on the loose you have to stay inside the mansion under the protection spell." Karlheinz said 
"I know, I just miss my sons. I wish that we could go home." Eleanor sighed gently caressing her stomach
Karlheinz walked over and kissed her forehead and placed his hands over hers before saying, "you will see them again just give it a couple more days. If it makes you feel any better, they're safe. Instead of staying in the mansion they are living with their grandparents under the protection spell." 
"What about Cordelia, Beatrix, and Christa?"  
"I decided for them to stay where they are currently as well. Going out isn't safe right now " 
"When will it ever be safe?"
"I don't know Norry, I don't know..."
"I'll bring some food upstairs for you any requests?" Karlheinz asked 
"Burnt alfredo." Eleanor simply said 
"Hehe.. okay then." Karlhienz hesitantly said 

The baby is going to be born in a couple days. To be honest Eleanor is terrified. Karl may have forgotten that she is going to die soon but she hasn't. The baby is going to be born the day she dies and she is scared. She is going to leave her baby alone in this world without her. Worst of all she is going to leave everyone she loves behind as well without any goodbyes. All 12 of her sons are never gonna get a proper goodbye. Her husband is going to be left alone in this world with no common sense as to how to take care of a child. Eleanor teared up at her thoughts but quickly wiped her tears and continued writing letters for everyone. She is currently writing her last letter and it's for her first born Shu. She lit a fire that no one else could when he was first born and for that she would always be thankful. She left small gifts as well so that they can make it seem that she will always be by their side. 

"The food is ready." Karlheinz said knocking on door
Eleanoe jumped and wiped her tears putting her letters under her pillow.
"Sorry I was just writing to my dad and got a little emotional." Eleanor lied 
"Again? Has he answered any of your letters so far?" Karlhienz asked 
"Nope, not a single one." Eleanor mumbled with a mouthful of pasta in her mouth
"Do you think that he is ever going to answer?" Karlheinz asked 
Eleanor sighed and said, "No I don't think so, but it doesn't hurt to try." 
It was silent for a couple minutes until Eleanor asked, "what's wrong? You're never this silent."
"You know me well." Karlhienz chuckled, "Eleanor, have you thought of your dying wish?" 
Eleanor paused for a minute before saying, "I honestly thought you forgot, but yes I have." 
"What is it?" Karlhienz asked 
"I'm afraid that it will stay a secret." Eleanor said smiling and the went back to eating 

He stared at the women in front of him. She's brave, kind, and strong like he could never be. Don't get me wrong, he is strong just not the way she is. Eleanor doesn't give a care in the world; she just deals with what she has. She doesn't ask for more something he wished that he possessed. 
"I finished." Eleanor said 
"I'll take that while you get dressed for bed." Karlhienz said 
"Okay!" Eleanor agreed 
After a couple minutes Karl returned and got dressed into his night clothes. Before he could take off his shirt he heard a squeak behind him. He turned around and saw Eleanor staring at him with her face cherry red. 
"You can draw me if you like." Karlhienz said exposing his muscular back
"Y-you Idiot." Eleanor said diving under the covers. 
Karl chuckled and finished dressing before getting into the bed and wrapping his arms around Eleanor's stomach. 
"Have you thought of any names?" Karlhienz asked 
"Some... If it was a boy I was thinking something like Cedric or Hiroshi." Eleanor said, "If it was a girl I was thinking of Adelaide or Agatha."
"They are wonderful names." Karlhienz said 
"What about you? What were you thinking?" Eleanor asked 
"I've only thought of two names, Imogen and Adonis." Karlhienz said 
"Why those names?" Eleanor asked
"When I traveled the world two people accompanied me. They were named Imogen and Adonis. They were kind like you. I was hurt one day and they took me in." Karlhienz explained smiling at the past memories
"I already want to meet them!" Eleanor said, "Will I ever get to?" 
"Sadly no. They are dead." Karlheinz said 
"Oh....If you don't mind me asking how they died?" Eleanor asked 
"I killed them." Karlhienz said casting his eyes downward 
"Why?" Eleanor asked 
"Do not stress yourself about it, just go to sleep, you need sleep." Karlheinz ordered 
Eleanor was about to protest but then looked behind her and saw a look she never thought that she would see. He looked sad and lonely. She turned back around and said, "When I die don't be lonely okay? Find someone to love. I do not care who just be happy, okay?" 
Karlhienz didn't answer, instead he gripped her hand tightly and snuggled into her back. 
Her eyes couldn't stay open anymore and fell asleep when she heard the words. "I Promise."
