The Earth seems dead, as if the night has consumed it whole. But of course Hendrix Castodian is conscious of the sleeping citizens tucked away safely in their houses, as he prowls down the silent streets of Rome.

The old, cobbled roads and ancient architectures make it extremely hard for Hendrix to fully realize it is the year 2004 A.D, instead of B.C. He can almost hear the clip clop of Roman soldiers atop magnificent steads, marching honorably to battle, citizens waving their farewells. Back then Earth would have been no different to his home Scene now, Kalar. The similarities worm sadness into his heart.

So much bloodshed, you wonder when it will ever end. However Earth, this Scene, is all the hope Hendrix needs that his Kalar can someday be prosperous again. But still the events of tonight cast a dark shadow on his heart.

"My Lord?" Avril asks softly, gently lifting up the bundle held tightly in her withered arms. Hendrix doesn't have it in him to reply. However, Avril understands his pain perfectly.

"You are giving her the best chance at a good life, My Lord." She tries to reassure him. Hendrix knows this, but still feels the hole opening in his already wounded heart.

"Just do it, Avril." He manages to sigh, turning his tired face up to the night sky above. The stars blink down at him, as if trying to keep his focus so he doesn't notice Avril laying the small bundle down at the doorstep of an old, rickety house. Before she stands up she bends close, whispering words he doesn't want to hear to the baby.

Once Avril is back at his side he turns away, only saying the words in his head, never aloud.

"I love you, Melody. And I hope to God he never comes for you."

With that, King Hendrix Castodian of Kalar leaves his baby girl at the doorstep of a human widow's home, praying to any God out there that she lives a peaceful and good life. Like any normal, human girl deserves.
