i walk down the street to the town center. i cant show weakness. i have to be strong.

"Y/N!" i shoot my head up to see Armin waving at me. His golden hair blowing in the wind and his blue eyes sparkling like the stars on the night of a clear sky. I dash over to him. Armin has been my best friend forever. We met when we were 4. We just sorta clicked. Even though our personalities were completely different, we complimented each other in every way perfectly. Armin is sweet, smart, and calm. The kid to never fight back because it's against his "philosophy".

Me on the other hand, i'm strong. i'm gonna be popular one day. the type of person to protect others so they can see how amazing i am. i know when i'm beat but i don't let it stop me. i use it to get stronger. one day i won't need to say i'm strong because everyone will already know. they'll remember the name Y/N L/N.

"Hey Armin!" i yell back

"Hey.... we're you crying?" How did he...?
    oop
"No of course not! A true soldier never shows tears."

"Y/N. you can't lie to me. what happened?"
dog
"Armin.... my parents.... they're gone." Armin's joyous expression immediately changes to a shocked and sad one. Armin always liked my parents. They got along mostly because they were all fascinated by the outside world. They'd spend hours talking about it as i just sat and watched. To be honest, it fascinated me too. I didn't want to be the awkward one in the conversation so i just listened and nodded, adding in my input every once in a while.

The outside world.... oceans.... deserts.... rocks that take days to climb.... lands of ice that go on for miles. i'm gonna see it one day. i'll be strong enough to take all of my comrades. everyone will see what the world is like, they'll see how i was strong enough to take them there.

"Y/N?" Armin's voice snapped me back into reality.

"Oh sorry Armin." i replied

"You don't seem sad. Don't you care that your parents are gone?"

"I do. But i also know that they were soldiers sworn to lay down their lives to benefit humanity. They were prepared to die and therefore prepared me to be able to survive without them..." i shot back.

"Oh.... i guess i never thought about it like that." Armin said.

"Yeah... most people wouldn't."

"Oh right!" Armin picks up his book and turns back to me. "I'm supposed to meet up with Eren and Mikasa now. Do you wanna tag along?"

"Sure why not." i replied.

Armin and i walked down the busy streets looking for Eren and Mikasa so that we can all relax by the river. It didn't take us long to find them so we all sat down and talked for a bit. I told them about my parents and they expressed their condolences and i accepted them. We continued to exchange information we gathered from the town until something happened. Little did we know, our lives were about to change forever...
