Strong | Hange x Reader

𝙲𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝚃𝚑𝚒𝚛𝚝𝚎𝚎𝚗: 𝙷𝚊𝚗𝚐𝚎 𝚂𝚚𝚞𝚊𝚍

It's been about a week and a half since the 'incident'. I was discharged from the infirmary two days after Hange's visit and sent to my new room where I continued healing. I'm not completely healed yet but I can move around well enough.

According to the commander, I start working on Hange squad today. 'What a drag' I think as I shoot a few glances around my new room before forcibly pulling myself out of bed. The sun landed on my S/C skin as a soft breeze blows, swaying my curtains. The early morning was something I dreaded. Getting out of bed isn't something I look forward to but as a soldier, I don't have a choice.

I quickly dress myself and adjust my belts before checking myself in the mirror. I was dressed in the standard issue soldier clothing with my H/L H/C hair fitting my face. I turned to the door before twisting the door knob and stepping out to go to the mess hall for breakfast.

After an ordinary breakfast and a talk with the rest of the 104th, i headed to the training field to meet my new squad. My footsteps stood out against the retreating sound of chatter amongst soldiers in the mess hall.

After a short walk, I arrived at the field. I spotted Hange amongst a few other soldiers that appeared to be caught in a conversation. As I approached my new squad leader, my walking stopped. I shot a quick salute before being ordered to stop the formality.

"Morning, squad leader."

"Good morning to you too Y/n. Also, please drop the title. It's just Hange." I heard them say as they smiled at me before turning to face the rest of the squad.

"Ok everyone! This is Y/n, the new member of the squad i was telling you about. Please introduce yourselves."

One by one each member came up to me and shook my hand before stating their name and title. Their names were Moblit, the vice captain of the squad, Lauda, Rashad, Nifa, and Keiji. They all welcomed me with warm smiles.

"Ok let's get down to business. Y/n, I want you to follow me. Moblit you too. The rest of you can do whatever but be back by 1pm." Hange stated. Four of the soldiers quickly saluted before walking back inside. I began to walk after Hange with Moblit by my side.

The path we took was unfamiliar to me but the look on Moblit's face told me that this clearly wasn't his first time. Trees blanketed the area as a path winded through them.

After about two minutes walking in silence, we arrived at another field. This one was heavily guarded with soldiers. To my surprise, we were given permission to walk in without the section commander having to say a word.

After a few more steps, I stood before two titans.

They were both restrained. One with blonde hair and blue eyes and the other with both brown hair and brown eyes. There were metal rods sticking out most of their body.

"Y/n, meet Sawney and Beane. Sawney and Beane, meet Y/n. Treat her well as I have a feeling she'll come to visit you guys often." Hange says to the two titans before turning to me and signaling for me to introduce myself. My face was one of shock, confusion, and unease.

I slowly stepped forward and hesitantly waved to the two creatures before saying "Nice to meet you."

I backed up and stood next to Moblit, hoping for some answers but to my dismay, he just stood looking at the section commander with serious eyes. I decided to match his energy and cut my efforts of searching for an explanation short.

"Get used to this. We basically live out here thanks to the section commander." Moblit whispered to me.

"Gotcha..."

The sun started to set and with it, a cool breeze. We'd been out here for who knows how long assisting the section commander in their experiments.

My arms hurt from putting up tents and carrying materials. Sweat covered my body as the sun only just started to go into hiding.

"Goodnight Sawney. You too Beane. I'll be back in the morning to check up on you guys. Sleep tight." Hange told the titans before spinning on their heel to make their exit.

Moblit and I quickly followed and began walking on either side of the titan lover.

"What did ya think y/n?" Hange asks.

"Oh... it was cool. Will definitely take some getting used to but I can see why you enjoy their company so much."

"I knew you were special." Hange said quietly but loud enough for me to hear. My cheeks began to heat up. I quickly turned my head to hide my flustered face.

'Special? Me?'

"Since we're on the topic, I find you quite fascinating section commander. I love how you can look past what most see on the outside when they see a titan. The scouts are lucky to have someone like you." I say while still looking in the opposite direction.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the titan lover's lips curve upwards into a slight smile.

We continued to walk in silence for a few seconds before being interrupted.

"Oi. Quit the flirting. Y/n, you didn't complete your chores for today." The short captain said. I quickly turned to meet his gaze. There was a lump in my throat knowing he heard what we both said. 'Flirting? Yeah we complimented each other but I wouldn't call it flirting.'

"My apologies shorty. I'm afraid Y/n was stuck with me all day and didn't have the time to complete chores. It's nothing she can't make up tomorrow though, right?" The section commander told the tiny man.

"Tch. Fine. Go eat and go to bed. I want those chores completed by tomorrow at noon."

With that, i saluted before agreeing.

"Four eyes, Erwin needs to talk to you." The shorty told the titan lover.

"Alrighty then. Moblit, will you put today's notes in my room? You're free to do as you please once you finish." Moblit agreed before walking off. "Y/n, go eat and catch up with your friends. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"

"Okay. Goodnight squad leader." I began to turn around and start making my way back to the base.

"Oh and Y/n, drop the formalities, will ya? Just call me Hange." They told me before flashing a smile.

"Got it."

With that, i began to walk hastily back to the base, hoping dinner was still being served.

After a few minutes of speed walking, I arrived back at the base. As I reached my hand out to open the door, my head began to pound.

The world around me began to spin as I felt myself loosing consciousness. I tried to steady myself but my efforts proved futile as i began to fall.

I hit the ground and my eyes began to close.

"Y/n!"
