Selene started to walk outside, but Mya stopped her. "Where are you going? You'll miss all the fun?!"

Her friends from high school had made a going away party for the ones going away to collages farther away.

"I just need some air" Selene answered. She stepped out onto the pathway. She couldn't believe that tomorrow she was going to collage. Leaving everything she knew in Jaysville to go all the way across the country for collage in California for a job she might not even get. She didn't know if she even wanted to go to collage anymore.

Mya was now next to her on the bench. "What's wrong?" She asked. Selene said nothing was wrong, but Mya asked knew her to well. She asked again, and she told her.

She needed more time to think. Selene and Mya went back in and plastered a smile on her face, but everyone was gone, as well as Mya. No one was anywhere in the house as if they had turned to dust. None of the cars had moved an inch. None of the neighbors were there either.

She was alone. Udtterly, completely alone.

As she went back inside, she saw a large hole in the middle of the room. It definitely had'nt been there before or she would have noticed it. But it couldn't have just appeared! It was surrounded by a silvery-blueish metal. Selene went in for a closer look. It looked like metal all the down. She could not see all the way down.

She got a rock from outside to drop it down the hole thing, even though there was nothing to be heard. It must be very deep, she thought to herself. She pondered at it for a while. Then she felt something push her down.
