Chapter 5

I landed, hitting my head on the side of a muddy wall, adding more scrapes and cuts to my already beaten up arms and legs.

"Jess?!" I heard  Nick yell obviously worried about where I had landed.

I groaned and held my head as I looked around, pitch black, nothing.

"I'm fine Nick, where the hell am i?" I asked back confused.

"This may shock you and confuse you, but in the ground..." He replied, "I'll be right back..."

"Don't leave me here!!" I yelled at him, but he had clearly already left.

I cried out in frustration. God that boy annoys the crap out of me! I kicked the muddy wall that was next to me as I was now standing.  All of a sudden the wall collapsed and light streamed in from a tunnel like cave I had just discovered.

"Well I never." I admitted to myself as I got on all fours and crawled through the tunnel towards the light. I hope this leads somewhere interesting.

I continued for around five minutes of crawling through a tight spaced tunnel that's walls were muddy and hard to get a good grip on. I ignored Nick's lame attempts at trying to locate me as that jackass shouldn't have abandoned me alone in the bloody ground.

My eyes picked up that the light was becoming stronger and the tunnel was becoming looser around my arms and waist. Yes an opening!

I rolled out of the cave/tunnel and through the opening landing like a rock in a lovely and cold pool of water. I sighed in content that I had somehow just crawled under the earth to find some underground heaven, but it couldn't be underground, because I'm pretty sure that's the sun hitting me in the face.  Yep damn you sun.

I took in the paradise around me. It was just like where I left the others, but it was much more set out like a camping ground. There was a nice space of flat rock where we could set up camp, crystal blue water set up in a long stretch of pool that surrounded the flat rock in the shape of a crescent moon, there was a dense looking jungle on the other side of the pool to the flat rock that would be crawling with tonight's dinner and the whole paradise seemed to be surrounded by rock, enclosing it off into our own territory. It was perfect.

Before I even realized what I was doing I was getting back inside the muddy tunnel that caused stains that wouldn't come out no matter how many times I washed them. After a few minutes I could hear the familiar voices of my friends and Nick who I has disowned as a friend for leaving me all alone in the ground.

"I'm not going into that, what if there are bugs down there." Chloe whimpered.

"But Jess is down there." Nick sighed sounding exhausted.
