Chapter 6

A Escape From Life

I knelt there in the hall considering the words Jake had just whispered into my ear. But I wasn't giving in. I braced myself, jumped up and ran. Surprisingly the pain didn't come back, which could only mean Jake was following. I finally got myself out of the house and ran strait for the woods. I was shocked to see snow I was sort of thankful that Jake had left my boots on. My feet were silent in the snow but I wasn't wearing a coat and soon I began to get tired from running. But I didn't stop I had to get away from this place.I slipped and fell so many times on the ice coating the floor of the woods I lost count. Panic was the only thing fueling me. I paused for a moment trying to figure out where I was but it was no use i had no idea where I was and these woods were completely unfamiliar to me. Suddenly i heard a firm footstep behind me. I went to run but was pushed sideways and pinned to a tree. "Sam you can't fight me or run from me it just wont work." I looked at Jake with hatred. Why was he doing this to me? "I'll keep fighting until one of us is dead." My words were hard and weak but filled with hate and anger. "Samora at this rate your going to be the one dead." His words hit me in the gut and told me he was right. But I wasn't going to listen to some guy who thought he was a fictional creature. "No...Let me go!!!" I struggled but it was no use Jake was to strong. "Sam I'm sorry but if you wont come with me I'll make you." He didn't even wait for me to respond. He opened up his mouth and I almost fainted. There they were two fangs coming from his upper jaw and two smaller ones on the bottom. I wanted to scream but I could tell my throat was bleeding again. His hand came to my throat and he ripped the bandage away then with out hesitation he sunk his fangs deep into my neck. To my horror I could feel the wound on my neck pulling itself back together until my throat didn't hurt anymore it was then that I let out a terrified scream. Then suddenly a freezing sensation went over my entire body. It felt like I had been thrown in a tub of ice water. But it wasn't uncomfortable It was actually soothing. My vision began to blur and the things around me began to spin. Jake leg go of my neck and picked me up into his arms. "I'm sorry." His words rang in my ears as the last few seconds of consciousness were taken away.

When I can to I was laid in a bunch of blankets and pillows. I looked up and was shocked to realize that I was in what seemed to be a large bird cage. I tried to see something outside the cage but it was to dark. The only light was the spotlight that was shining directly on the cage. The cage was also hanging a few feet above the ground. "I'm sorry my love but the council didn't want you trying to escape again so they put you in here." His voice brought chills down my spine. "Why are you doing this?" He stepped out of the shadows and looked up at me. "You hate it now but you'll soon understand." He turned around and began to leave I ran through my mind trying to think of some excuse that would cause him to open the cage. "Wait!" He stopped at he sound of my voice but he didn't turn around. "You have to let me out....I have to go to the bathroom." He was still for a moment. "Nice try but you have vampire venom in your system. You're pretty much just in existence right now, you haven't been breathing this entire time....if you hadn't noticed." A sense of fear washed over me. He was right I wasn't breathing. I didn't need to. With out another word he walked out. How was I going to get out of this? I wasn't tired, hungry, or even bored I was just there like he said I was only existing.
