Summer's POV

I am walking as fast as I can down the hall so I can get away from Calum. What I just saw makes me wanna disappear in NYU right now. I am walking with my heads down when I bumped into someone.

"I'm sorry." I say as I look up.

"Summer?" Ashton said, most likely asked.

"Ash?" I say before hugging him with my arms wrapped on his waist because he is a bit too tall to reach for me.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Ashton asked as he runs his hand up and down in my back.

"Please, take me away from here." I say, partly begged.

"Okay, okay." Ashton agrees.

We climbed in into his car and he started to drive. I am looking at the road as I lean my head in the window glass.

"Summer, are you okay?" Ashton asked, I can feel his concern and worrying.

"Yeah." I replied quietly.

"Where do you wanna go then?"

"Is The Brooklyn Bridge okay with you?" I ask him.

"Sure." Ashton smiled.

After an hour drive, Ashton and I arrived in The Brooklyn Bridge. It is sunny and a bit hot but I didn't mind. I stared at the shining water and let myself feel the air.

"Here." Ashton say, I turn to him to see that he is handling a drink to me.

"Thanks, Ash." I say as I take the drink from him.

We leaned side by side at the front of his car and we looked at the water together. I glanced at Ashton to see that he has some wounds and bruises.

"What happened to you?" I ask him.

"Oh, it's nothing."

"Come on, Ash." I say. "You don't have to hide things from me anymore."

"Well, I just got into some fight." Ashton answered. "No big deal."

I took a sip of my drink before looking back at the water which reflects the beautiful sky from above.

"What happened in NYU?" Ashton asked and I started to feel nervous.

I looked at Ashton and took a deep breath before saying something.

"Ash, does Calum really love me?" And I saw how Ashton's expression drifted.

"What kind of question is that Summer?" Ashton asked. "Of course he loves you."

"Why would he lie and keep things from me?" I say, trying to hold my tears back from falling.

Ashton moved closer to me and placed an arm over my shoulder.

"Summer, the world that we are in is dangerous." Ashton started. "Trust me that he did it with his best intentions. We did it to protect you."

Ashton's words made my tears fall even though I don't want them to. I sniffed and Ashton pulled me more closer, I leaned my head on his shoulder then he ran his hand up and down in my arm.

"You see, Summer, living in our world or being part of our world can kill you if we don't protect you. And we guess that hiding the real us is the answer." Ashton says. "But I think we're wrong. And I want to apologize for that."
