"Yes. Just for you." He replies. Wow. I know he cares for me, but this explains a lot. However, I still feel like crud and I want to be happy. "Peter?" "Yeah?" "Can we go visit my dad's grave please?" "Of course! Why would I say no?!" He asks. "I don't know. Because you have to save more people?" I ask, rhetorically. "No. My time is with you now. For three days at least. From now until the day after Valentines. My attention is all on you." He says. That made me feel so much better. I grab I to him as he swings us to the graveyard where my father is buried. I walk up to My father's gravestone.
George Stacy
Beloved husband, father, friend, neighbor, and police chief. Will always be remembered and his honor will not be forgotten. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. R.I.P
I cry and read his stone over and over again. I feel strong arms wrap around my waist and I lean into Peter. "Hey, take these." He whispers, and I turn to find beautiful red roses in his hand. "Thank you." I tell him before turning back to the headstone. "Dad, you were my everything. You were my idol, you still are. I've always wanted to be as brave, as selfless, as heroic as you were. Your time came too soon, but you lived to greatness. I miss you so much daddy. I love you." I say and place the roses below the words. I turn and hug Peter tightly. "Thank you for coming with me. And thank you for the roses." "You're welcome. I love you." He says. He then steps up to the headstone and crouches. "Captain Stacy. I know I'm breaking my promise to you. I'm reminded every day when I see your beautiful daughters face. But I can't help it. I can't stay away. So, I make a new promise. I promise to always be there for her, I promise to protect her, even if it costs me my life. And most of all I promise to live her more than anything. To put her above all else and love her more than anyone else ever could. I hope you accept my new promise and I hope we can put the past behind us. Thank you for your beautiful daughter and the service you've done to this city. I could t have done it without you." He says, softly crying. I begin to sob, Peter's words were beautiful. But most if all, his promise. His promise was amazing and I know he will do all that he said he will. I walk up to him and hug him tightly. He hugs me back. I lean upwards on my tiptoes to kiss him, our tears mixing and the salt tainting our kiss. But we don't mind. We have each other and a brand new promise to show our love.
