Chapter 15 : Convincing The Drama Queen.
We stepped out from the orthopedic's clinic with Arjun trailing behind me like a lost puppy.
"I'm sorry, Naina! I never knew Alia would make a fuss of this and trust me, I thought you must have told her about Ranveer, considering the fact that she's your best friend ", Arjun said.
"Oh! She did not bag the best drama queen award for nothing", I said opening the door of my car.
I settled in the car and Arjun followed the pursuit. We fastened our seat belts and left the premises.
"I hope she's not upset with you for too long!", he said as the car came to a halt at the signal.
I glared at him, why on the earth did he have to mention about Ranveer and him being related?
"Don't look at me like that", he said looking away.
"You know what, Arjun? You're are walking trouble maker", I said making an attempt to wring his neck. He moved further in his seat like I was really about to wring his neck.
"Oh! Come on , I'm not the only one to be blamed! It's your mistake too ! You should have told her! She's your best friend indeed!", he said defending himself.
"Oh! Don't say that crap! I said, I forgot! It just skipped my mind and Alia frames it like I'm keeping secrets from her!", I said and from the corner of my eyes, I could see him pouting. He looked as if a kid had been caught stealing cookie! I tried to maintain my I'm-mad-at-you demeanor but at the same time a smile threatened to appear on my face.
"Where are we going?" he asked.
"I'm dropping you home and.....we are not discussing this any further", I quickly added the latter as I saw him ready to protest from the corner of my eyes.
"And where are you going after dropping me?", he asked again."To Alia's place. I'll have tough time convincing her!", I said nodding my head as misery awaits me ahead.
"Listen, let me come with you to her place and let me sort the- let me complete my sentence ", he said placing his uninjured hand on my mouth as I was about to protest.
"OK ", I mumbled against his hand and he took away his hand immediately.
"I've got you in this situation so, please let me help you and sort things out", he said making me understand the scenario, as if I were a five year old school girl.
"There's absolutely no need, my injured knight in shining armor. I want you to take complete rest before Radhika makes me her meal" I said and shook my head disapprovingly.
"Please, Naina! I can make it easy for you. One chance. Please!", he said giving me those famous puppy dog eyes which I found hard to resist.
"Ugh! Fine then! But then you will go home", I said.
"Yes boss", he said saluting me.
We arrived at Alia's apartment, I rung the bell and Alia's mother, Mrs Simran Sighania opened the door.
"Oh sweetie! I was expecting you! What on earth did you do to make that girl so mad? And-wait! Who is this young gentleman with you? ", aunt Simran said all in one breath.
She is a very lively person and a tough lady too. She takes the life the way it comes, she is not the one who will sit and crib about life being unfair. She's a best counsellor and she's a psychiatrist. When I'd drowned in depression after my break up with Virat, it was for aunt Simran who helped me come out of it and not to forget Alia had been my pillar of support during that rough phase."Arjun Thappar, I'm the reason your daughter is upset for", Arjun said and aunt gave me a what-the- hell-is-going-on look.
"Why don't you kids come in and explain me", aunt said inviting us in.
